    Sorry, but no.
"The numbers don't lie. Average hiring salary went up last year."

Numbers may not lie, but the interpretation and presention of them often does.

To quote Disraeli "There are three kinds of lies: lies; damn lies, and statistics."

The average can mean many things - it could also easily mean that there are FEWER jobs, but that the ones that are left pay more, on average.

FYI: Amtrak (The National Railroad Passenger Service) was incoporated by the US government (under Pres. Nixon) by taking over all the MONEY-LOSING passenger rail services from the private rail companies.
The private companies could not run passenger/commuter rail at a profit(!) so they were going to kill it. If there was no Amtrak / US government subsidy, there would be no passenger rail service.

    A brief history

It is a choice of government subsidy or no rail service.

We are putting our money down to replace our WebTrends Log analyzer system with Summary Pro(http://www.summary.net/).

It has a rich set of features, analyzes and summarizes logs across multiple servers, has a multitude of pre-defined reports and costs thousands less than Webtrends or IBM.

Crystal Reports? Run away, far, far away. Crystal Reports web access server has a $1,000 fee per simultaneous user. Their logging / licensing system counts anyone who has an open window to a report as an active "simultaneous user" - so the costs can add up quickly. It seems to me there has to be a more cost-effective solution for the basic requirements described here.
