I googled and didn't find much, but is there a way to use a usb thumb drive as the boot device for a liveCd image? 1 giggers are pretty common now, and the option of being r/w would make it that much more useful.
I know not alot of bios's support booting of a usb thumb drive, but slowly that will change.
Not that this helps much, but my wife is actually the FPS freak of the house and organizes all the LAN parties... We've gone through all the addictions together. Diablo, The Sims, Ultima Online, the list goes on.
But I guess thats the Benefits of being married to a GeekGrrl.
On the helpful side, I would recommend some of the Civilization type games. They give lots of opportunity for team play.
These little beauties are better than fish tanks because they don't smell.
They are better than plants because you don't have to water them.
They remind you that some things in life are still simple.
And most importantly, in the soul-depleating office enviroment of the 21st century they can give you a much needed dose of megalomania that can get you through the day.
One of my small victories in our wedding plans was that I wanted our bands to be made from meteorite metal. The metal is from a crash site in Africa 13,000 years ago. We found a jeweller in California that did some custom work and someday soon I hope the superpowers will kick in.
Actually, if memory serves me correctly this technology has been around for awhile.
I think RealNetworks invented (or more likely bought...) it because I could have sworn I smelt fear during the Clinton testimony webcast and then again during Bill Gates first presentation of Win2K when it BSD'd on him.
But I'm holding off for the (Direct X compat...:) FORCEFEEDBACK tag to be implimented into Internet Explorer.
Now that a couple days have passed I think I enjoyed the movie more now than initially. The little subtle bits have sunk in.
Like the fact that Vader never encountered (full) C3PO in IV,V,VI. Now I just chuckle that if he had we would have seen a weeping, mushy Vader that broke down at the reunion.
But there are a couple flaws with the storyline now.
If Anakin is a 'fatherless' child, where did his (apparently) older brother Owen come from?
And if the 'Melatolin' (sp?) level in someone's cells determined how much 'force' a person had, why would Vader have most of his body replaced by machine, thus reducing the number of cells and his strength?
I hope these little things get cleared up later on. I know its my own fault that I've become so critical over the years, but loose ends can really throw a movie for me.
Will I see it again. Yes, definately. There was so much to see and experience that it just isn't possible to pick it all up the first time.

See, yet again another use for the FORCEFEEDBACK tag. Go to www.swedishmassage.com and lie on your ThrustMaster Pro.
