well, its also a fact that even if you apply all the M$ patches, you still have an OS with holes in it.
With linux though, if you put on very security measure, your box will be pretty secure. I think/. had a story a couple of times about someone testing out the theory. His linux box has not been cracked.

umm....last time I checked, all the terrorists don't live in Afghanistan. Realistically, we're going to bomb Afghanistan and then other international groups (possibly linked to bin Ladin), are going to bomb us back, klling more civilians.
Let's not forget how the US supports US friendly governments, no matter their civil rights policies. Take for example, Diem prior to Vietnam, Saddam, and how United Fruit bascially owned the politicians in Cuba prior to Castro's take over.
This doesn't detract from the fact that it was a horrible act, but lets not get carried away with the cultural differences/"they're crazy" idea on TV etc.
Agreed. Violence is necessary to our society. Ancient Romans had it (gladiator games) and we have it now in the form of boxing, football, etc. It feeds directly to harmartia that people need to feel since our lives in a heavily regulated society is extremly banal. Sometimes, the individual needs to scream, and violence allows for that.
What people need to realize is that violence and the triumph of the hero is a reflection of societies triumph over the "evil" values. Violence is merely the manifestation of values, not the desensitization of the individual.
In other news, researchers concluded that the end of piracy is correlated with the rise in the average temperature world wide.
Its okay guys..really. Bruce Willis and his buddies are training right now. There is no cause for worry!

I fear we're headed for another Vietnam
