Nope I'm not a 'screener' but most emails are via blenders web forms (it takes a bit more effort to find the email addresses than to fill out the webforms), of which I handle most of them, if you sent it directly to a blender.org address then it went to whoever you mailed it to.
Seriously though, they did add notes to all of the images naming the source. Maybe they asked permission, and that was all the creators asked of them? I'd advise we hold off on the lynching until one of the artists comes out and complains.
No they did not ask permission. We specifically denied them to use of some of the images and of our videos (some are CC licensed and thus we have no control over, but many are not). However he has ignored most of the requests from the Blender Foundation.
His customers appear happy, and given that he's marketing to die-hard Windows & Mac users (no Linux version mentioned), the fee probably makes them feel more comfortable. It's a feature...

He creates false testimonials (I reported him to one of the corporations he was using in a false testimonial - he had fabricated the individual and testimony.)
So rather than politically engaged voters who care, travelling their voting station to cast a ballot, we can now encourage everyone to click vote, based on who has the best style, a trustworthy face and catchy slogans!
Unfortunately 'those who care' don't necessarily make more informed decisions than those who don't. Probably the best solution is mandatory voting which other countries have implemented, which prevents highly motivated minoritys from dominating the political landscape.
So Party members defer instant gratification and instead work towards long-term goals. That's the definition of smart right there.
Then there's the issue of working yourself into a position where you can use your intellect to benefit others which we call altruism. Again, a trait that the smart people share.
Altruism is not correlated positively or negatively with intelligence.
See 'The Ways and Powers of Love: types, factors and techniques of moral Transformation' which summarizes some of the relevant research.
I realize you are likely just a troll, but thought I'd correct your disinformation.
I want to know why Obama hasn't closed the damn place yet. One of the major reasons I voted democratic in the last presidential election was to put an end to this sort of thing.
According to politifact
resident Barack Obama's campaign promise to close the Guantanamo Bay detention center has switched from In the Works to Stalled and back again (and again). All that movement reflects a simple dynamic: Obama really wants to close the center. But Congress really doesn't.
The latest turn of events was the law authorizing defense spending for 2011. In addition to funding the military for the year, members of Congress attached several stipulations about Guantanamo. The law says no funds canbe used to transfer Guantanamo detainees to the United States, and no funds can be used to transfer detainees to the custody of foreign countries, unless specific conditions are met about how the prisoners will be held.
Obama didn't like those provisions and issued a statement deploring them. He said the limitation on transferring prisoners to the U.S. is "a dangerous and unprecedented challenge to critical executive branch authority...." Of the new requirements on transferring prisoners to foreign governments, Obama said it could "hinder the conduct of delicate negotiations with foreign countries and therefore the effort to conclude detainee transfers in accord with our national security."
I suspect that Bing could potentially be on the hook for patent infringement, since they are in effect using Googles patented search algorithm as part of their own search algorithm.
But in the US, the "rich" - to be specific, let's say the top 1% - earned 25% of the wealth and paid 38% of the income taxes. That doesn't sound like "virtually nothing".
You, like many others, have confused wealth with income. The wealthy 1% have over 50% of wealth (top 20% have over 84% of wealth).
Also income taxes are not total taxes paid (they are 1/3 of the total US tax base) and the proper measure is total taxes (after transfers) as a percentage of total wealth.
On that basis the poor and middle class are massively overtaxed, and the wealthy are drastically undertaxed. Essentially the middle class and lower class are drastically subsidizing the wealthy.
People get their winnings denied for counting cards. I don't really understand how that's allowed - not only is it impossible to prove, it also seems like it means that the rules prohibit playing to the best of your ability.
AFAIK you cannot be denied your winnings for counting cards. They can however refuse to let you play if they believe you are a successful card counter. (They actually like card counting since most people make errors frequently enough that the edge from the counting is lost).
One wonders how is that any easier on the airframe?
Anyone know how you calculate G-forces in this kind of acceleration?
It isn't the total acceleration, it is the change in acceleration (jerk) that stresses the airframe. The steam catapult has a lot of jerk, the induction system can minimal jerk.
If you are a defendant in a criminal case, do you want the evidence brought against you, the interpretation of the law that is being applied against you, and any questions that the jury cannot decide for themselves based that evidence and interpretation to be available in an accurate record that you can cite in an appeal, or in a juror's cellphone browser history that walks out the door and never sees the light of day?
It is fairly safe to say that every juror has watched law, crime, and medical tv dramas. So in fact they are already using outside information that is informing their view of the defendants guilt or innocence. All else being equal, I want informed juries, not ignorant ones.
Which is literally true since from Little Diomede part of US territory and Alaska you can see Big Diomede which is under Russian control.
A legitimate critique of Palin would be that she considered Russia being visible from an island of Alaska, as saying something useful about her international experience and foreign relations.
Hey is this the individual who had the talk at the google summer of code summit? Did you put your talk online yet? Don't forget to send an email to the list on it...
Income tax is on income, not capital gains. He wouldn't have been paying income tax on his share sale anyway.
And his argument was that it would hurt his ability to attract talent. Unless by talent he meant himself I fail to see how what he does with his assets has to do with this issue.
Shares he has received as executive compensation can qualify as income and be taxed at the income tax rate depending on certain qualifications for how the recieving of hte shares was structured.
In the US we do all sorts of things to search for tumors. Most people have a benign tumor, and thus we often will find one if we look hard enough. Then surgery is recommended for the tumor (it might be cancerous!). Now the US cancer stats are improved - because you had a tumor, it was removed, and you didn't die from cancer.
In most other countries they don't go to extreme measures looking for tumors, and if a benign tumor is found they don't cut it out 'just in case'.
So the numbers look like this (illustrative) say both populations have the exact same rate of cancer and benign tumors.
500 benign - survivability 100% 500 real - survivability 50%
US
(500*100%+500*50%)/(500+500) = 75% cancer survival rate.
Rest of World
(500*50%)/(500) = 50% cancer survival rate.
The numbers are exaggerated, but the principle is the same. The huge number of false positives in the US drastically inflates the cancer survivor statistics, with essentially no change in actual survivability. (Note from the study - "cancer prevalence was more than twice as high in the United States (17.9 percent compared to 7.8 percent"). More than half the excess cancer prevalence is from false positives.
If you want to complain about bad television being the norm, you need to go find people and convince them to watch your favorite show instead of { watching crap like American Idol, pirating the show off the Internet, doing intellectually-stimulating or otherwise rewarding activities besides TV }. Lousy television is their fault, not the networks', the latter is just giving people what they want.
Only those that are used for ratings sampling determine what shows are shown - Nielsen ratings primarily. So those watching it off the internet, or other such activities have almost zero impact on what is or isn't shown unless they are one of about 25,000 Nielsen families ie about a 1 in 4000 chance.
Net Neutrality was not on the radar of these voters. Support for net neutrality didn't hurt or save anyone.
Due to the Supreme Court ruling regarding corporate sponsored advertising and donations - any stance against a heavily moneyed interest hurt a politician holding that stance. Since Net Neutrality was something of particular important to AT&T I would not be surprised if they funded a number of attack ads against Boucher on other topics to increase his chances of losing. Similarly any politician who expressed opinions contrary to Net Neutrality when their opponent did not, likely was the beneficiary of attack ads against their opponent.
Decoys have been used through martial history. Inflatable decoys (with heaters to fake infrared signatures) have been around for a long time as well. Fooling radar is more difficult.

A few sites are using these spam farms to sell blender using misleading advertising (including copyright violation I believe).
ie illusionmage.com - search 'create 3d animation'
and 3dmagixpro.com - search '3d animation software'
illusionmage.com is also using spamming via twitter and i think facebook as well.
If anyone has twitter and facebook contacts who might help us get rid of these spammers would be appreciated.

But when will there be a real movie?
You mean a full length feature film shown in theatres in which all of the 3D was done with Blender?

That was done by a studio in Argentina. I'm hoping it will go to DVD so I can watch it here in the US.
