The "buggys", as you put it, are still out there, but now you call an individual in another country instead of another part of your country. This is the amazing "choose your own flame" summation! -Punchline Choice One Otherwise, you can continue to piss on the other kids, your somewhat suspect highground is still in good shape. -Punchline Choice Two Perhaps when we can call some other country and have their assholes piss all over our peers you can join in the pity party too; won't that be nice? Until then, save those pennies for a rainy day Champ!

Maybe Fridays, it's your sordid fantasy, not mine.

Anyway, since there are some clear examples and not so clear examples I leave you with this: Viewers of "Snakes on a Plane" were treated to simulated sex and BARE breasts and a man being bitten by a snake on his penis all in the same scene. Violent Porn, are we all criminals? Up until the snake came into the scene, it was pretty titilting.

If you made the player "eat" the transferred file the next time it shut down and hold the file in some hidden memory location that made it impossible to transfer off of the unit to yet another kid, you'd have a viable model there.

That's an excellent idea otherwise. Music is both social and solitary. If you could share the music in a secure way that allowed IP holders to limit it or feel assured that a shared music file would "die" rather than haning around on the target player, I feel that you might even get the RIAA to sign off on it.

Then of course, you'd have some honest complaints about "who are you to decide what I can do with my music." However, I'm sure there would be a market for this type of technology/solution.

Not to draw too fine a point, but MAC really has been the market leader in MASS CONSUMER products that have visual appeal.

While there are other products that are small like the mac mini, cooler than it in terms of bells and whistles, etc, the Mac Mini has the likely splash effect of prompting more MASS CONSUMER cusotmers to look seriously at the small form factors. Maybe this will drive down the prices for such cool tools, like it has for Hard drive based Music devices (Like My iRiver HP-120)

At worst there will be a number of I-POD adopters who will adopt the Mini-Mac too, since they will now have the native OS that the device was intended to work with at an easier price point. Which hopefully improves Apple's bottom line.

I should point out that I own no MAC or I-Pod, I do not work for apple corporation or use apple products. This won't idemnify me from attacks as some form of Zealot, but at least I may take some form of insular high-ground within my own head.

Counter point, sorta. Call it a flip flop or just nuance if you want

Just so we are together on this, there are people in the Arab world who want what the western world has, we should all support them, they love the Western world. We should encourage them to make the changes they want, from within, and support them in any way we can. The problem that the western world faces, however, is that it ends up enforcing it's way upon the rest of the people who do not want American or Western Anything. Their 14th century lifestyle, with rights for none and subservience to a Theocracy or Theocratic Autocrat(s).

There are Americans who don't think that black people shoudl marry white folks, you don't send in troops to force the issue (any more).
