discreet html text advertising was google's biggest differentiator. if they care about their brand they should reconsider. this opens the doors for a competitor to out-simplify google.
taxing by the mile favors the owners of inefficient cars. the gps devices can be blocked (and hybrid owners are more likely to know how to block them). this is a joke. it will never happen.
if the state is worried about losing taxes on the hybrids, then why not raise the gas tax? Penalize the inefficient cars that cause more damage to the roads and environment instead of wasting billions on gps devices, tracking databases, and gas-station upgrades just to support inefficient gas-guzzlers.
quoting from the article: "Greg Lynn, a leading architect from Venice, California, said. "I believe that aesthetically there's a great potential to make things that have never been seen before."
Look at Lynn's site [Flash plugin required] to see examples of the kind of forms that might be possible with this process.
yes, i read it that way too. he's saying that Apple breaking Bluetooth in 10.2.8 is criminal, or at least rotten, so he doesn't feel bad about downloading 10.3 illegally.
studio sessions is only one way of making music. there are other ways to conceive, compose, and record music.
and who says musicians need to record their music at all to make a living? that model has only been around a short time. it might be time for a change.
linear, pre recorded music may become passe. music might veolve into an unstable reactive medium like networked multi-player games, an experience that is not predetermined and cannot be packaged into a piece of plastic.
File sharing is relatively trivial. What if someone use your wireless router for espionage, terrorist communications, or other more dangerous activities. Are you the one who goes to jail for the rest of your life? If accused, do you carry the burden of having to prove that you are not guilty of these things if someone else uses your account?
Something similar happens when you get a red light photo ticket while driving someone else's car in Los Angeles. You receive a letter in the mail which gives you the option to check a box saying that you were not driving the car. But it also requires you to fill in the name of the person who was driving. Should you be forced to "tell" on this person? And what if you don't know who it is or can;t recognize their picture on the ticket?
Technology is creating some strange accountability issues.
a bug is also the term for the small logo in the corner of a sheet of glass.. usually contains a manufacturer logo and some description of the glass.. whether it is tempered or not, etc. it doesn't look like a bug.. but if you order a sheet of glass with or without a bug, the salesperson will know what you are talking about.
This is a subjective comment... but my limited experience has been that Western Digital drives fail much more often than any other drive. I've owned 2 WD SCSI drives in the last 3 years and they have both failed. All my SCSI and IDE Seagates, IBM's and Maxtors are ok. I've had one SCSI Quantum fail also.
it would have been useful to see the Nvidia Quadro cards in this list, even if they sometimes share chractaeristics with the GeForce cards.

Gaim 2.0.0beta1 beta doesn't work with either GTK 2.8.6 or 2.8.7. Gaim 1.5 works with both.
I'll have to stick with 1.5 since I'm also using GIMP.
I wonder if Pixar made a bid for Alias?
why are small 1280x1024 displays so hard to find?
is there a shortage of high-res displays?
IBM used to make a laptop with a 1600x1200 display. Now their largest screens seem to be 1400x1050.
Some mainstream 15" HP laptops are also limited to 1024x768, which is ridiculous.
With 128MB of video ram, why not provide a high-res display option?
google maps has directions, and satellite views, and local search results..
try gentoo or debian. slackware is digging itself deeper into an irrelevant niche.
i agree. it's doubtful that flickr will be able to sustain the same level of creative development under the yahoo umbrella.

gentoo also calls it amd64.
at linuxpackages.net the development of non-slackware packages for slackware seems to validate the gentoo philosophy of choice and flexibility.
the building is Diamond Ranch High School designed by Morphosis.

it shows up in lots of tv commercials.
Scalix is supposed to work with blackberries. never used it though.
Any real life experiences with Scalix? It looks good on paper.
we need plugins that can work with native 64bit browsers on amd64 (x86-64)

i just started using 7-zip and love it. it makes zip files but also tar.gz and tar which is something that winzip cannot do.
