I think that it is very wrong to say it led to WW2 as WW2 had really already begun. I think it was about taking all reasonable steps to avoid the inevitable. When a paramedic arrives at an accident and the injured person is purple, he still tries to resuscitate, does he believe that he will succeed? No, but he knows that he must try. Did Chamberlain believe that he would succeed? I do not know but could he commit the British people to that level of death and destruction without having tried?
For $9000, I would rather go on a good holiday near a volcano and toss the drive in while I am there... There are so many total destruction options available (real rather than volcanic) that I cannot see why you would pay $9000. Have none of you seen what an oxy/acetylene torch does to a drive? A sledge hammer does not destroy the data, just the drive but oxy/acetylene destroys everything... even the KGB would not be able to find any data on the lump of molten metal left behind and I would still have change to buy a load of new drives.
They probably are but still have nothing to do with what we are discussing. Or are you suggesting that NatWest Three are child molesters? At least try to look beyond your country's propaganda and get an idea of what is really happening. One of those guys had already been prosecuted and paid for his crime under British law but was still handed over by the puppet government...
The US keeps trying to force its own draconian laws on other countries so it should not be surprised when other countries do the same. Next time the US wants some hacker extradited for looking at some US computer, they should expect their handling of this case to affect the outcome of their next request...
I listen in the truck with a blown exhaust and whilst getting high on the fumes, lossy or lossless? I have trouble noticing if the car radio is even turned on.
This is one part of US law that I will always fail to understand. Their action caused harm and CISCO should be able to claim for those damages. I have counter sued twice in the UK when I had to go to court over things that should not have gone to court.
I am sure that you can understand the word 'greed' and already know its definition so you are obviously trolling as it is quite appropriate in this context whereas your definition is inaccurate.
You can steal anything that has value if you intend to permanently deprive the owner of said property. There is no requirement in law to show a physical object, only the property has value.
If a standard currency exchange was robbed for $12,000 we would not even read the story. This is a trivial crime and of little interest. It serves more as a warning rather than as a bank robbery story. I hope that those that are concerned learn from this but if this is the crime of the century in the Bitcoin world then they are doing really well.
I do not think that any court or official government body recognizes your television as being a legitimate currency but I can be prosecuted for stealing it. If it has value to the owner, it can be stolen.
If you can move away from the American propaganda this is really a non-story. This will do nothing for the people of NK, just as the US government and everyone else does nothing for the people of NK. TPB are not an NGO or any other body that should be trying to do anything more than any government so there is nothing to comment on. Out of the hundreds of countries in the world run by whack jobs, it is only the propaganda that makes this one special. If they went to Zimbabwe, there would be a lot less press but no real difference.
The judge probably runs a proxy and wants to drum up some customers. There is nothing that will be achieved by this. kat.ph used to be a good site but now the advertising is getting to be a pain so I had stopped using it anyway and gone back to thepiratebay.se which they banned earlier and is still going strong.
It may not be what being a whistleblower is about but it is a side effect of what being a whistleblower is about. Is he responsible for the crimes of the Bush administration? NO but he will be the token lamb at the slaughter.
Thank you for the geography lesson and apart from starting a sentence with a conjunction the rest of your post is spot on.

I think that I need to learn sign language...
...he will accept some Bitcoins in part payment. Different!

...now it will be an also ran. Oh wait, it already is.

A bit like the way that China is convincing everyone that they own Taiwan?

... that with all that really bad DRM shai'te no one would actually buy it... so they were not prepared for actual sales.

You also need one parent to be a actual teacher...
Next step is to tattoo barcodes on every child's forehead as they are born...
"What if they want to pass a draconian law they believe will hinder piracy a bit?"
What do you mean "What if"??? Have you been asleep for a couple of decades?

"go outside and take the dog for a walk."
Where is that? Do you have a map? It sounds very scary, the idea of leaving the comfort and glow of the computer screen and facing the real world...
Next idea, Get a proxy and download shed loads of torrents so that you never have to go out again :-)
I always thought that it was an anti-US site...
