Even though your post was off topic, I felt required to reply. You'll have to forgive me though I don't know HTML. The reason is the average person doesn't know about DMCA and things of that nature is because people are sheep and their Shepard hasn't told them what to think about it, so they have no opinion. Until our Government, the media and corporate America give them an opinion they will stare blankly when you mention anything out side their scope of reality. They feed us social narcotics to distract us from what is really going on in the world. Television, Sports, Celebrity's and God are all things used to distract us from the truth. They take us away from our horrible lives and comfort us into submission. Making it easier to control us and throw us around. As Americans we have become comfortable with not thinking for ourselves, after all isn't is easier to have someone do something for you than to do it yourself? This country is lazy, overweight and ignorant, is our fault? Is the Shepard's fault? No, we share the blame, they do it to us and we allow it to happen. As for the Qwest/MSN deal, I doubt anyone will care. The average person is too numb to the reality of being bought and sold like cattle. All they want is to surf where they are told to surf. And MSN now has that many more sheep to lead. Will it ever change? I doubt it. It would have to take something very drastic for the bulk of the flock to stray from it's master. But that's just how I see it.
Serial Experiments Lain, I love that show. I've noticed alot of ties to Mac(The Navi ?)and Be in the show, don't know if anyone would care but one of the designers of the series has a great site at: http://www.people.or.jp/~ab/index_e.html
I would be inclined to use BeOS as a desktop platform, if there were out of the box linux app support. The thing I didn't like about BeOS was the huge lack of apps out there, for a media OS I found the lack of "Good" sound editing software disappointing. I wish I could program worth a shit, I would have done it myself. Don't get me wrong it was fun to toy around with, but that was just about it. Of course it's the same with Linux, I have yet to see anything the quality of programs like Pristine Sounds, Cool Edit, or Sound Forge. I still use Linux as my desktop though, I just have to boot into windows to do sound work, or play games (Half-life). I'll admit it, I'm a brainless musician.
That's funny, you rip on the moderators and they mod you up and call it insightfull. Your opinion is your opinion and your right to have one, I just find it funny that your first was a troll and your second, beacuse it said "hey, mod me down I don't care." they mod you up, proof that once again that the moderators are crack heads, and germans love david hasselhof! ---
Of course their going to listen to paper, It takes more effort to run out, get a stamp, get an envelope, and write it out yourself. Only people who really care will take the time and energy needed to express their thoughts on paper. It's better that getting some e-mail that says nothing important from someone who lives two states away from the representative's area.

Beacuse it's America. We like our meat red, our tits big, our idols stupid and our enemies dead.
