    Timely review of Tim Wu's book "The Master Switch: The Rise and Fall of Information Empires" . Especially the quote from the mid-century CBS news president Fred Friendly about the power of media empires, which was the inspiration for the books title: "At stake is not the First Amendment or the right of free speech, but exclusive custody of the master switch."

    The BBC along with other UK radio and TV stations are also trialing multicast with a number of ISPs:

    As other people have pointed out in the discussions above this is a much more efficient method of distribution.

    Maximise the Blender window and the menus will automagically appear on ver 2.37. Haven't tried 2.40 yet.

    I've heard that if you go to Control Panel, System, Advanced, Performance, and select, "Adjust for best performance", Windows reverts to something almost indistinguishable from Windows 98/2000. I haven't tested but worth the look.

    It seems the terrorists didn't even bother to encrypt their emails either according to this article in the UK Guardian newspaper.

    "FBI investigators had been able to locate hundreds of email communications, sent 30 to 45 days before the attack....According to the FBI, the conspirators had not used encryption or concealment methods. Once found, the emails could be openly read."
