I've seen it said that IE isn't XHTML complaint. Well that's bullshit.
I've done loadsa 'xhtml' sites. XHTML is just a HTML living upto XML rules. Most browsers support it without even knowing it.
As for why mozillaquestquest doesn't work, I'm assuming that the reason is that it sends that data down the line marked as text/xml, and not as xhtml. See for yourself here. If it was sent down as text/html, or possibly text/xhtml (is that valid?) then IE would render it correctly. AFAIK, the namespace shouldn't be used to define a document, but a DTD.
In conclusion, IE renders it as xml, where as Mozilla eroneously renders it as xhtml.
Both Asus Probe and Nero needs administration privilidges because it has access directly to the hard disk for some of their more powerful functions.
Granted, they could work with limited functionality under lesser accounts, but even then it's their decision to do that. You can hardly blame Microsoft for that.
ActiveState are bringing out their own version of ActivePython, a Python distro for Windows. And yes, it will be kept up to date. A Perl.net has already been released in numerous betas, and it rules. I've been writing GUI Perl applications is Visual Studio for a fair few months now. Very impressive.
My Win2k never crashed, and I installed it about September last year.
As for your questions:
I don't need support. But I assume because most Windows users have far less experience than GNU/Linux users.
I never called a support hotline
I don't have an MCSE or ever configured a Cisco 2500. But I doubt that every MCSE can't configure one.
Well, I'm a Windows user and haven't noticed a lack of software. So the only answer to your question is Mu.
I've got no problem with GNU/Linux, good server, not bad desktop. I just personally prefer Windows. I like IE, and like Win2ks reliability. My Mandrake box isn't quite as reliable. I accept that this probably could be made as reliable through extra configuration - but I'd probably make it worse.
The COM system. I fuckin ace html rendering library which can be used in any program incredibly simply.
User definable scripting languages - the WSH. I can call a PerlScript function directly from VBScript, which can pass refereces to external objects. Pass a Database information from a-b. Simple as piss. Not only that, but I can create a program which can use the WSH inherently with an unbelievably small amount of code.
Ever want to see this in action, look at dIRC. Not a great irc client, but just look at the scripting. Download ActivePython, and you can write scripts in Python, all using the same OM. I've never seen anything else do anything like this, anywhere else.
Yes, it's had security holes, but that's because the COM/WSH system was groundbraking, there was nothing too look at for previous experiece. This is the reason Linux is so secure, it's based on a 25 year old(?) OS. The Open Source comunity shouldn't boast about innovation anyway, what the hell has it ever thought of? It's forever copying *everything* MS does.
>>What if the RIAA buys the patent off Thomas Multimedia and then uses it to kill of any mp3 file sharing illegal or not.
If anyone took and overtly controlled MP3, another format would take off.
As for Microsoft, do you honestly think they'd do that?
Firstly, just because MS doesn't ship win2k proffesional with Apache hardly makes it crippled as a desktop OS.
The 10 limit connection applies to the shipped IIS, Microsoft's own web server, which only applies to the the profesional. Win2k Server and above has no such problems.
You can install Apache with no limits on Win2k.
I'm not definate, but I'm 95% sure that BT had been trialing 3G phones on the isle of man for a few weeks now.
If only they could be ahead with land based high speed comms...
Can I just say that I meant Doctype, and not DTD.

After 10 minutes it was using 60mb of memory. My PC has 64 mb of memory. Ever heard a hard disk cry?
I, for one, will be sticking with IE5.5.

There was a patch for the default.ida exploit literally months before Code Red.
So what's your point?
Since when exactly has the BsA had any authority in Mexico?
It pisses me off when Americans think that their laws rule the world.
It's just not written by Microsoft.

Although the previous poster was clearly talking crap, why say he's racist?
Why even a bigot?
Wanna know what it's got us?

I like Perl tho, that's good.
And this would be why we have proxy servers.
Get a distributed proxy server software, so it routes round people's ISPs who do have access.
Or listen to Radio 1, good music and no adverts.
All paid for by the British license fee, of course.
I've been programming

It can't take that much proccessing power to put a simple chip which can encode to 56bit, can it?
How are you alive?
