By the law of averages, atleast some of the US senators ought to have some clue about digital media and people's views on them. This legislation is over due and hopefully it will pass and the US will soon have a fair set of digital right rules.
Though I am not a US citizen, I am very much interested in this as most of the laws get exported from the US to other countries.
Here is a freshmeat link to a project that converts from PST files to traditional unix mbox files.
It also has some support for converting into KMail files.

Font HOWTO For Linux

Yes I also thought the same when I saw the pictures. In fact I re-read the article to see if I was wrong. Seems that the anti-aliasing has been turned *off* in the "fixed" screenshot.
Also at the end of the article the following appears:
Note, several readers have pointed out that this technique seems to break anti-aliasing. It does, but not universally. Some fonts will have it and some won't.
So I think it is the case that, the screenshot was taken with one of those fonts that "dont have it".
If that is the case then, the author must have chosen the fonts wrongly !!!
What would happen if they disguise one so realistically that everyone actually gets deceived by them. Say a mast disguised as a tree, gets used by lots of birds to build their nests and eventually when some thing goes wrong and they have to repair it, what would happen to all those birds???? Or more seriously children think of it as normal trees or street signs and play around them and knock one down. Then they will have some serious explaining to do....
The Italians successfully put a satellite in space for what amounts to government pocket change. Maybe this sort of thing will be wave of the future. Built for cheap, launched for cheap. Shoestring everything. We shouldn't make fun of Italy for being cost-conscious.

Any law against spamming can always be used against free speach. So it is actually like being between a rock and a hard place. And laws can do little to stop the hardcore spammers anyway. We have so many laws against crime, and the last I heard crime was only increasing. We must make it untenable to be spammers. The spammers must be made to look like shit in the society. Social outrage against spamming is the only way. If people refuse to deal with spammers on any of their personal business then the spammers might think twice.
Did anyone get java working with it. I downloaded and installed the jre download available from the mozilla download page. But many java applets fail to start up. Any clues?
I think equating RMS to M$ for him refusing to speak to a group of users with whom he disagrees is very wrong. We may not disagree with his ideas on totally free systems and his desire to use only free software. It may also not be possible for most of us professionals to use totally free software all the time, but we must also take care to respect RMS's views and his freedom to speak or rather refuse to speak and his right to have and preech his ideas.
No the US started it. The US trained Bin Laden to take on the USSR. The US poured arms and money into the war ravaged Afghanistan to push out the USSR. The US used the afghans as pawns in its activities against USSR and then ditched them with all the weapons and destructive technologies and walked out.All that money ended up in creating organisations like Al-queda.
The Sept 11 attack was the culmination of what the US started.

I am from India and I have to disagree with what said about India being "not free, thanks to the caste system". The caste system in India was a formalisation of the class difference that is present in all societies. It is no longer present. People are NOT discriminated based on their castes. The only place castes are still used is for providing assistance to people who were kept down on the basis of caste. What you are referring to is atleast 60 years ago. Please learn more about a country and its people before making blanket statements like these.
Atleast in India, the government is not run by a bunch of industrialists who pass laws like the DMCA.SSSCA and CBDTPA.In India, the Members of the Parliament cannot be bought out to pass laws like these.
But what exactly is the difference to the victim whether he/she is "the collateral damage in a war" or part of a "intentional mass murders of civilians with no military objective".
How does a military objective justify killing of innocent civilians? Would u feel the same way if some army bombs out ur entire locality and u are left in the midst of debris with ur entire family being "the collateral damage in a war"???
Code a picture that will produce a voice and we have an encrypted speech. Sounds interesting. I am going to display all those pics in my collection and listen for hidden messages:).
Now is the time for all those who complained about RIAA to join in and take this to a good conclusion.
