Someone on the 24.x.x.x domain (@home) is ineffected bad with this thing I'm not even running a server. I'm just surfing to day, Zone alarm is going crazy reporting attacks to different ports. What gives I thought this was a port 80 thing?

How in the heck is global warming "the most significant threat"? Seems to me that the Earth does more polluting than man ever can, remember mount pinatubo (sp?) remember mount st. helens? didnt these eruptions produce more greenhouse gases in a few minutes than mankind can in a few years? My opinion is that outside of nuclear war theres not to much that we, as humnas can do to really fsck up this ole blue marble, but then again I'm just and old hillbilly and not very sophisticated about all these new fangled political positions.

  3. I love my Presario on Compaq Shifts Focus · · Score: 1

I have a "new" Presario, less than a week old as of today. It is fantastic! Vertical HDD mounting, Standard parts, I have already upgraded the crap out of it. I bought a cheapy on thier website and made it ROCK. The case is great! Its easy to work in and the parts are standard, I know it was a problem in the past but my new one is a cream pie. It was very reasonable too, all in all I would sayu Compaq learned thier hardware lessons.

I was under the impression that the pyramids were empty inside. From what I recall there were no markings inside either. It seems to me that all the other buildings and things form the 4th Dynasty have markings all over them, Why not the Pyramids? As an after thought there is an interesting book about the mysteries of Ancient Egypt By Graham Hancock, Its called Fingerprints of the Gods. Its a very good read, and contains lots of useful info on the "true" age of the monuments.

  5. Speaking of apple's anybody remember Geos? on Mac Nostalgia On Two Fronts · · Score: 2

I seem to recall a gui called Geos, or Geospace or works or something along those lines, early to mid 80's. Was that on the apple or am I thinking of a Commodore thing. Damn Walking down memory lane gets longer and longer all the time.

Scuse me.... but we were in a recession before Reagan was in office it was one of the deciding factors for him getting in. How you gather that Reagan was responsible for it I would dearly love to read. Some hyper-democrat manual I suppose.
