I had to deal with this many years ago. The two biggest sources of interference were the CRT display and the switching power supply. That was pre-LCD so I had to live with the CRT but replacing the power supply with a linear regulator helped reduce noice significantly.

There are many more possibilities. Most large government labs, such as Fermilab have tours and/or a visitor center. Most large universities have museums. These are often small but sometimes excellent and some have not been "dumbed down" like some of the larger public museums.

Second this. Use mh and you can use all of the UNIX or Linux tools for mail filing, processing, or filtering.
