These depend on a server actually being up to trasmit to. I guess someone could DoS attack those servers, affecting patients by doctors not having the critical information in time. Which kinda supports michaels story comment, then again maybe not.
"but you can't call a program which DELIBERATLY hides itself from users a "legit admin tool"."
If I'm not mistaken, Microsoft's Back Office has the exact same feature to 'hide' itself from users. So does this mean it's not a "legit admin tool" either?
This can't be a good indicator of the influence of e-mail because it's been all over the news here in NZ and on the Internet. So the results gathered would be flawed as people find out about this from other sources (eg. TV, newspapers, internet etc.).
As a NZer, I don't really see a point to all this. If by some chance it does make it as an official religion, i'm guessing most people would be like: "Wow, cool, that's nice..." and then go off and do whatever they were doing beforehand. I don't see what's the big deal.
Obviously, I'm sure these sports organisations only know what the MPAA has told them about DeCSS.
This case is pretty much the only reason I have DeCSS on my computer, I don't have a DVD-Rom and the DVD Player I do have is a different region than the DVDs I have (which annoys me to no end).

Unchecked, such piracy threatens to destroy the legitimate marketplace for works of art..."
Yes, because everybody on the net is a pirate. Gimme a break, I don't see the Recording Industry going down in flames because of "piracy".
The DMCA is spreading, south. =(
Now that Australia has a DMCA of it's own, I'm hoping New Zealand (where I live) doesn't follow. But considering the recent law proposals here (e-mail snooping, vodafone tapping) I wouldn't be surprised.
I'd like to read the actual law to see just how it's worded. But I expect it to be very broad in most of it's definitions.
I can't believe they're not exempting caching.
Blizzard has trademarked "Diablo" (not "Diablo a caballo" or "Diablo andaba en los choclos", just "Diablo") as a movie title, and a game, so they have good grounds to sue New Line. And yes if you submit a common word (or alphabet letter) for a trademark and it gets approved like in Blizzard's case, you'll have a completely legit trademark (stupid sounding maybe, but legit). That's just fact.

I can set cl_noads "1" in whatever game, I don't care.
11 Line Perl Script, that includes comment lines. =)

All this talk of highspeed internet connections, and I'm here, probably forever stuck with a 56k modem :(

So lag will now be minutes instead of seconds. As if it wasn't bad enough already.
