It's this kind of ignorant f$cking crap that hurts everyone that has ADD/ADHD or any other 'subtle' disability. You know what, doing sh$t you don't like is part of f$cking life, and it's hard when I can't focus enough to do the things that I need to get done, or want to get done because I can't stay on track. I have ADD and right now because I'm poor, I'm unmedicated. Organizing my life has become a monumental effort, with much failure. I have to take copious amounts of notes, create schedules and lists for myself. Is even that working perfectly? no it's not. Being a child is doing whatever you want when you want. Being a functional person is having the wisdom and SELF CONTROL to do what you need to. The goal of treating any psychosomatic disorder is not to drug you into compliance. It's to allow you to be a functioning person. To make you a happier person. My disorder has ruined two jobs and I could probably trace it back to numerous relationship troubles. I'm not trying to blame my misfortune on my disability. I blame my mistakes on myself. For trying to believe all these other pricks, that said 'if I just tried harder' or 'you just have you focus' or 'don't you care enough?'
I'm done trying to conform, or be a victim. I'm trying to live a happy life.
Alright, 7500 hundred songs, let's assume an average of 4 minutes per song, that's 30,000 minutes of music, or 500 hours. now, let's say the average person is awake for 14 hours a day, and for the sake of argument, he was a zealotlike fan of music, so he only spends 6 hours a day without music (on average). At 8 hours a day (and I think anyone's willing to admit that's way more than most people listen in an average day) he can listen to his 7500 songs for more than two months at that rate and that's if he NEVER listens to a song more than once, in that 50 day period!
I guess my point is, can you really fill 30 gigs with music that you actually want to listen to? (thinking music is 'good' and listening to it regularly are two totally different things)
Just my two cents I guess... I've been doing mp3s since probably 96, but the thing I never understand about my mp3 junkie friends, is that they'll burn 50 gigs of mp3's and maybe 10 of it ever makes their playlist and probably only half get's listened to on a regular basis.
I'm currently a Network/Security Engineer for one of the larger DOD networks (appox 10th largest Class B network in the world) Since I've started working here, I've realized a lot of things that are slightly disturbing about the way security is managed. I have had my boss tell me that he didn't care if a new business process would completely undermine our security infrastructure as long the users don't have to login second time. The point I'm trying to make is that there are a lot of very intelligent and hard working people in the federal networks. The problem is a management system that promotes 'appearance' over 'reality'. If we had our way and had the authority to enforce our security model on all of our sites our network would be tight as a drum. One thing to note though. When the GAO did audit our security, they weren't able to get far enough into out network to even perform basic mapping. On top of it, they whined when we blocked them after detecting the attacks on our IDS consoles. I guess the moral is, you can bring your manager a cup of water, but you can't make him drink it.
It seems to me that you could counter this by having ssh send the keystroke data at regularly timed intervals, so that no matter what timing there was between actual keystrokes, it would appear the same once it left the computer. If a person was typing too slowly, ssh could merely send a junk packet for the server to ignore. I may be totally wrong but it seems like an easy way to counter a rather obscure (somewhat unreliable?) vulnerability.
I completely understand the geeky desire to do everything yourself (especially if it saves you some cash), but think about it for a second.
Realtors spend their whole day looking at properties. A good realtor will know almost every single property that is for sale in their area. They will constantly be constantly on the look out for when new 'gems' come out on the market so they can show them to their clients. I will readily admit that there are many bad realtors out there, but considering that a piece of property is about as large of an investment as any of us are going to make, I would spend more time trying to find yourself a GOOD realtor than a good website. A realtor will be helpful in more than just finding the right house, they can help you examine the house you are interested in. They can spot flaws, or potential problems that are easy to overlook as a new home buyer. I realize this may not be the answer you are looking for, but its best one IMHO.

Why is everyone so upset about spam? We've been getting junk in our real mailboxes for decades. Honestly, I take much more offense at real junk mail, because not only do I have to waste my time to manually recycle it, but its a waste of trees. SPAM on the other hand is very easy to control. *click click* its gone. Those of you out there that are more clever have scripts to filter your email. I work for a very large gov't agency and I recieve about 40-50 random spam a day in my work acount from other employees, but I'm not getting litigious on their ass. Also, just like in real life, know who you are doing business with. I've had an excite.com email addy as my primary address for over a year now and I think that I have only recieved 12 pieces of spam to date.
Everyone needs to just get on with their lives. there will always be people out there that use seedy business practices and if you can't learn to avoid them, then you are already screwed. Stop looking to the Government to solve all of your problems./sigh

I completely agree. Especially since wellbutrin can cause mania, talk about out of the frying pan and into the fire.

Alright, I'm sure someone has the answer to this... what makes this thing a 'robot' as opposed to say... just a big fscking tool?
I mean, it still takes to people to operate it, so it's by no means autonomous.
