  2. Re:Nice on Standard Web Fonts 'Updated' In Vista · · Score: 1

My most favorite font for coding for for over a decade has been 6x13. in '94 using eXceed X-windows server on Win3.1 I could fit two 80 column wide 54 lines high emacs windows side-by-side on my screen using 6x13 font (more so on the Sun workstations). Even coding on Windows using VS, first thing I do is install 6x13 font on the machine. If only Java had good support for this font on windows ... Eclipse could be pleasure to use...

    3. /.'ers short sell sco shares
    4. ??? ---- investor help needed

  7. Review Missed VoA: Voice of America on Shortwave Radio and The PC · · Score: 2

Thats another great radio station. Have grown up on staple of BBC, VoA, Radio Australia and (what was then) Radio Moscow during childhood in India. Didn't understand communist/capitalist propoganda back then, but the Russian english accept sure was closer to Americal accent than British. Australian accent was, well Australian. Also heard bits of Dueshe Welle.

Remember waking up at nights to listen to brtish top 20 charts on BBC, and Billboard top 10 on VoA. VoA was hosted by Ray macdonald (if I remember correctly) who got married to a Calcutta girl. Then cam MTV which destroyed the snob-value of tracking charts ...

DXing is as addictive as Slashdot.

though this from the "structured days", if you hvn't read this then you don't know about coupling and cohesion (and various other things). this should be the first book to read on design.
