  1. Makes dot matrix printers look good on HP Must Defend Half-Empty "Economy" Ink Cartridges · · Score: 0

Sure they're noisy, pretty dang slow, and most use track paper, but a ribbon will last you ten years while an inkjet cartridge will go three months before it's dried up.

School, bussiness's, and Goodwill give these things away. Great for text, as long as you don't live in an apartment. Very noisy, yes, very noisy.

  2. Everyone say "YAY!" on Second-Gen DDR SDRAM On The Horizon · · Score: 0

To the dropping prices of RAM.

Joy to the advent of newer technology and lowering prices.

  3. What about NAT? on NZ Firm Shows Anti-DDoS Tool · · Score: 0

If this utility detects an over abundance of traffic from a single IP address and flags it as a DoS attacker then wouldn't it seem like a large corp or school district using NAT would be blocked from a server running this util?

    Picture this,
A large corp sends an e-mail to all users with a link to a server running this utility. 3000 people visit the link within the same day. All traffic is NAT'd, so to the server running the DoS utility sees all this traffic coming from the same IP and then all users on the network are blocked.

    Is this a possability?

This is the innovation that Mr. Teare claims Microsoft squished, his right to overcharge for a dubious product.

Hmmm, kinda like the innovation M$ uses every time they come out with a new distro of Windows.....

TextFiles.com Conspiracy Files and Whitley Strieber's Unknown Country. Gotta love science with conspiracy.

TextFiles conspiracy files are a bit old but they are still a very interesting read. Whitley Strieber's Unknown Country covers a very broad spectrum of ideas and theories. Good stuff!

    ahh the days of textfiles......

-tried to spell correctly this time. People seem to get irate with miss-typed comments.

  7. To many CS know nothings on Which IT Certifications for Specific IT Jobs? · · Score: 1

I go to collage for CS and there are many, many, MANY poeple in my class(s) that know absolutely nothing about CS exept what is in the books. This is a problem because they get better grades than most of the people that do know computers for real. Now companies think grades are important and say that you need a AD or 2yrs exp to get a job. It seems like you shouldn't have a problem since you have both.
Companies like to see such trivial things as pieces of paper because it makes them feel good to know they can brag paper to someone else. The like the Micro$oft certs, A+ garbage etc. Anything they don't uderstand is a plus too.

For such a brainwashed phobia you should really get help. I only assume that you live down south and that you were thouroughly brainwashed as a child, but by growing older you should have gained wisdom and knolwedge and come to the conclusion that color is just skin deep. But, assuming from your post you lack wisdom and knowledge.
