  1. Non-compete agreements on Microsoft Sues Google For Hiring MS Exec · · Score: 2, Interesting

Wow, such a non-compete agreement is pretty sick.

Over here in Germany those agreements are permitted by law and an accepted practice. However, they come with a twist:

These agreements are limited to (I think) two years. If you have one in your work contract and you resign or get fired, you employer can either decide to let you go and accept you working at the competition or has to continue paying about 75% of your salary as a compensation.

Get a life. Stamp collecting damn sure is worse then fucking or farting.

Well, all the snom phones around our office (and they are very nice by the way) claim to be booting 2.4.3...

Get the newest firmware, it runs 2.4.18. Make sure to get at least 1.10i, since this version fixes a lot of nasty bugs.

By the way: the bootloader still shows "Booting 2.4.3" but then switches to "Booting 2.4.18" after a few seconds?!?!

IMHO the snom phones are really shitty. Low quality hardware, annoying speaker and really really buggy. And their H.323 stack is a bad joke. SIP works quite well, though.

Okay, and how am I supposed to type a chinese URL? How could I then ever reach a FTP server in Israel, if it only had a hebrew hostname? (You know, my keyboard doesn't have a single hebrew key on it.)

Sorry guys, it really makes sense to use ASCII domain names as the least common denominator for world-wide accessability.

He says he is going to add speech recognition for password authentication.

Not only that, look what he has to say on his website:

The final big feature of LainOS is it's full intergrated voice control system.

    Cool, but then:

I'm going to finish implementing it as soon as I find some good voice recognition libraries.

Man, that guy is a dumbass.
