If the encyrption that freenet uses is a technological measure that controls access to copyrighted information, then it would be illegal for anyone to break the encryption. I see freenet's biggest shortfall is that it doesn't have enough "legal" copyrighted information on the network; a pretty good reason to start a complete sourceforge archive on freenet. If the IPDroids can use the dmca to protect their works, then us hackers should be able to use the dmca to protect our works.

Since any remidy judgement would be on future products and not on existing ones, a delay in a remidy judgement on their XP release means, msft will have codified their future and any remidy judgement will have ZERO EFFECT on them!

XP will be there final operating system release, and all upgrades to allready released products will not be part of the anti-trust remidy judgement. So by beating the clock, msft can circumvent any court ordered remidy!

I also suspect that msft will not share their filesystem information with the corporation that makes partition magic; this will make installing linux on new devices very problematic. Sure you can buy a separate hardrive and linux can peacefully co-exist with XP, but having a dual booting IPAQ will be impossible, as you cannot have two separate bootable storage mediums on them. This will have the effect of forcing most people to choose XP or linux, but not both.

Is because their is no money to be made in a virtual drug war

However, cocaine is a 30+ billion a dollar industry, which congress cannot help getting their paws on that money.

Congress gets to look like heros as they siphon many billions of dollars from us(theft), getting some 30k per head of cattle(locking up small time dealers, leaving revolving door for violent offenders), while the kingpin and his banker friend have a very lucrative money laundering scheme going.. giving money to congress to keep the status quo.

If possession of cocaine wasn't so *highly illegal* and usa_south_america's drug policy(shooting down christain missionaries in the sky) wasn't designed to limit the supply on the market.. thus driving up the price so countries like peru have an income(their only one worth noting) and the drug trade keeps on flowing.

The last thing the prescription drug market wants is a deregulated/decriminalized drug market. The last thing a king pin wants is commodity pricing on their drugs. Congress prohibtion is mainely designed to keep the profit in the drug trade going, and it's a conspiricy from both the left and the right. gw senior had pardoned a heroin dealer and clinton pardoned a cocaine dealer.

If because of this the sports teams revenues go down, then so do the franchise valuations go down and the professional athelete makes 1/3 of what he does today.
