You're right about about aluminium and football, as to liberalism, I believe most Americans care about nothing besides getting their bellies and wallets full and getting laid. The rest are immigrants playing real football and dodging the Immigration and Naturalization Services.
Imagine someone monitoring what you look at and what you actually "pay attention to." Next thing you know you'll be getting ads from the electronics store you window-shopped at or the magazine you looked at in a Barnes&Noble. I'm not so sure you'd want that...I know I wouldn't.
It is truly sad that only a few people look at it this way. The government will always allow mergers/breakups where it thinks it will get more power. The media (undoubtedly) controlled by the government, be it directly or indirectly, puts a blanket over our eyes so it will all seem nice and fuzzy in the end.
In a few years, when AOL/Time-Warner decide not to give the gov't what it wants, we'll see another 'anti-trust' lawsuit.
I totally agree, sue their arses to hell. I'm sure your local legal professional can come up with all kinds of reasons to take them to court.
