It's definitely an example of how to comment your code:-)
Everyone should make all their new developers have a look at http://www.multicians.org/dialup_.html, IMHO. OK, it's a bit messy, but I can make sense of it just from the well-placed, frequent, and verbose comments. Hooray!
How the hell do you get a job if you don't have a car? How do you go to the store to BUY your food if you don't have one? Where I come from the store isn't a walk down the road and I don't work on a farm.
However, one could safely assume you have an Internet connection....
Losing a car isn't a big deal? Yeah right. I don't think you know what you are talking about.
No, of course not, I don't have a car and therefore I'm not a real human being, obviously.
It's not exactly a good thing to lose your car because you can't afford to pay your bills. It's not good for your credit.
So sell the car before you get to the point where you can't make the payments?
I didn't say you should go buy a NEW car after you leave your job did I?
I guess you say that now, but my guess is that you have never left your job and gone 6 to 8 months or more on a $300/week unemployment check until you are no longer able to pay most of your bills with the money you have saved and your credit goes bad and you almost lose your car.
If you're running a car when you're on $300 a week, perhaps your priorities need adjusting.
If almost losing your car is as bad as not being able to put food on your table or pay the mortgage, your priorities *definitely* need adjusting.
Once there are no killer Windows apps left to replace, there will be no reason to have Windows at all-- and wouldn't that be nice?:)
Well, that's one of the problems, isn't it? Bill and his armies of coders aren't going to stand still, wait for Linux to catch up in terms of application volume and quality (as perceived by the average PC-buying person), and then say "Ah, now we have a fair, level playing field on which we can compete with Linux. Let's start designing stuff again".
Ah, fair play. I don't know DOS that well, and never have done, and the only Windows install I've used for the last 2 years has been Win2k. I stand corrected and, yep, DOS (most versions) can't do an easy recursive delete, and that sucks. Big time.
If "relatively new" encompasses owning a TI-99/4A in 1979 then I guess that's me:-) Depends on your age relative to me, really...
Seriously? So if you own a domain that comes with, say, 5 mailboxes (which, let's face it, most of us here probably do), then you can't access them? Furrfu, find yourself another ISP.

You don't think having a car is important?
Not as much as eating, no.

Works perfectly in DOS, and weighs in at one keystoke more than "rm -R *.txt". Why bother trying to be clever with the "for

vs.

"...a world market for maybe 5 computers"
"computers may one day weigh less than 1.5 tons"

Oh, what a sensible reaction.
