Same problem. I have a "WrongNumber" folder where I store them as evidence in case some site eventually tries to make me comply with a contract signed by "other me". >95% of the bogus emails I get have no verification link, and >99% don't have a "this isn't me" link. If you try to mail them back it takes 3-4 exchanges before they understand the dot rule, "But your mail has a dot, we didn't send to a dot." Could save so many headaches if they just implement double opt-in.
I never got a performance review from the same person twice. Quite often my reviewer had only been with the company a couple weeks. The final manager was eagerly stepping on necks to climb the ladder.
When I went to hide 3035583 I found that 2952664 had been re-added to the optional updates list. I know I hid it at least twice before. Getting sick of this game of whack-a-mole.
FUCKING PIECE OF SHIT SLASHDOT LOGGED ME OUT. THIS IS MY COMMENT. FUCK YOU SLASHDOT. I'M SICK OF YOUR SHIT. And fuck you for saying I'm yelling! And fuck you for saying I'm yelling! And fuck you for saying I'm yelling! And fuck you for saying I'm yelling!
I've owned multimeters but never heard the Fluke name before today. It sounds like their main feature is the color of the case rather than the gizmos inside. I think I'll go out of my way never to buy their products.
Who would have thought that this thread would turn into a flame war?
Hmm...
What flames? All I'm reading are valid complaints from real-world experience and a delusional person trying to defend horrible UI decisions for a corporation that we all know doesn't care one way or the other.
Big fukn surprise that the girls who belittled us in high school and college might have a hard time dealing with the social outcasts they themselves created later on in life. Remember, ladies, cosplay says you're slutty, not necessarily nerdy. There's a difference.
"significant resources are spent to maintain 'legacy' POTS service" and when we kill POTS we can fire everyone and then keep our rates as high as they are and steal more money. An obvious win-win. For the telcos. Lose-lose-lose-lose-lose for us.
Also, the zoning board of my old town is so full of nimbys that they'd rather fall off the comms grid than erect a cell tower where it might be *gasp* VISIBLE! (ie. the only place a point-to-point signal is reliable.) Pretty sure they're not alone.
I always fly with a giant book that I read prominently during takeoff and landing in the hopes that it will take off someone's head in the event of an emergency and I can point at the episode and say "See??? Electronics has nothing to do with it. Fuck your regulations!"
Their incompetence earned them a free procmail rule.
Yeah, man! Fight the power, hit 'em where it hurts. Accept their email and use your electricity and CPU cycles to process it and pipe it to/dev/null. That'll show 'em!
Most cars have folding seats which can be opened into the trunk from the inside. second a lot of cars have internal trunk release levers. you can open the trunk from the front seat.
two points about people who have never had a valet key.
They're oblivious to the fact that a proper valet key can LOCK THE FUCKING SEATS. second there's a switch in the glove box that you lock with a key to turn off the electronic trunk release.
Car designers are smarter than you. And unlike you, the people that valet park at the airport probably aren't borrowing your ex-roommate's little sister's 3rd generation hand-me-down Saturn.
Are you kidding me? Have you seen the size of Nevada? Do you know how far Reno is from the Hoover Dam?? 2 seconds on Google would have shown you that Reno is powered by the natural gas fired Frank A. Tracy Generating Station. Furthermore, Clark County has FIVE nat-gas plants AND a coal burner to power Vegas and friends. The vast majority of Hoover power goes to CA and AZ.
I'd love to see their faces when you tell half of your programming staff that they get paid less than their immediate peers because they chose to live in a less hip ZIP-code. That doesn't go over well.
Making all government contractors to sign in in a single "trusted" site is a good recipe for disaster. In fact, is the perfect honeypot to convince people that we are under attack.
This is a troll, right? If you think the government is capable of gathering information from MULTIPLE sources and making heads or tails from it, I have a couple of memorial fountains to sell you in lower Manhattan. Likewise, if you think that that 5 websites would have fewer bugs than one website... How the hell did you get such a low ID anyway?
Not EMC! Had to deal with them on multiple products at my last job and they were horrible. Their own professional services people would tell us so regularly. Their salesmen consistently lied about product capabilities and management at my company ate it up. Millions of dollars were given to them for what amounts to shelfware and their storage was swapped out for Hitachi because it also didn't live up to the promises. But because they're a "partner company" it was the ops department's job to eat as much shit as EMC could spew at us and like it.
Oh fuck that. Define server. # of CPU cores? My i7 blazes past common SPARC machines which are arguably servers. Listening on a port? Better not use standard FTP because your client will be listening for the server to connect to it! Don't get me started on all the ports that Windows opens up without ever asking.
The differences between consumer and business grade are the speed options and the SLA. You want to run a business off your home line? Go ahead, just don't complain when yours is the last one fixed after some kinda failure.

"Bands sell tickets at a loss and make it up with merch at the show."
Maybe if by "bands" you're referring only to Fugazi.

That works out to just over $2,000 per subscriber ($3B/1.2M subscribers)...
Wait, what? Since when is $2500 "just over $2000"? That's some rounding error.
What else will you download Firefox with on a new system?
c:\> ftp ftp.mozilla.org
n00b.
More likely they would drop a tube.
from a guy who calls himself fuckface? I'll comment however the fuck I want.
Spoken like a snot-nosed coder who can't be assed to explain his delicate genius even to the people hired to listen.

Wait a minute, is this proposed legislation or a review of Neal Stephenson's "REAMDE"?
