No, it is not open source. I've met them today at the Linux Tag in Karlsruhe. It will start at around 65 per User.
They haven't decided yet it IBM gets the deal. HP and Fujitsu-Siemens are also an option.
That's how we do it here. However, you still need an SSL-Conenction to the master database in case you need to do any updates (updates or only done at the master ldap server and then get replicated to the slaves from there)
That's really an interesting idea, i appreciate that too.
