But why? Why use something other than a grease pen on a white board?.
One key benefit of tablet usage is being able to take a picture of the lineups of the two teams during the game and show that whilst drawing some plays. In the past they'd print out pictures during the game, having them all on the tablet should make everything easier. (I suppose they take video as well). But as another poster said, its useless when there are connectivity issues. Microsoft should consider some sort of local syncing of the content.
Yeah, I'm a multi billionaire spending my evenings on slashdot. You've proven your limited insight right off the bat, then fortified that image with your ideas. Borrow to pay people for not doing anything? You don't think the taxpayers will bear the cost in the end? Money doesn't magically appear. What the heck have you been reading?
Its hard sometimes to tell the fear mongers from those that are just ignorant. Mostly I just hear parrots repeating whatever fits their ill informed vision of all things nuclear.
I try to do my part to educate and point out the utter stupidity which is common to almost every anti-nuke submission, but sometimes I agree, why bother.
UBI is a solution put forth from simpleton thinking. The logic, they don't have money so lets give them some. Unfortunately it doesn't address the problem, just the symptom. In the end it may be needed, but we should try every other path first and limit assistance to basic needs and education.
BTW, "disruptive" means once it was discovered they went through some level of effort to analyze the extent of condition. They disrupted the normal work of the day, but not the operation of any safety controls of the plant.
The Reuters article lists other data breaches and malware infections at nuclear sites over the years, and notes that the IAEA director "also cited a case in which an individual tried to smuggle a small amount of highly enriched uranium about four years ago that could have been used to build a so-called 'dirty bomb'." At the isotope research center at the University of Toyama, the attacker reportedly compressed more than 1,000 files to make them easier to transmit.
This paragraph conflates separate, unrelated incidences, one of which has nothing at all to do with cyber attack. Why?
Of course, if we are just talking about an administrative network breach, and not the isolated control network, it sounds a lot worse than the risk it presents. There have been some cases of malware migrating to corporate network connected devices, but they've been isolated from anything that could affect operation of the facility.
Germany is the second country where they had to change the way the feature was advertised, after the crash in China forced them to there as well.
I still kinda want this feature, but only for slow stop/start traffic.
Stop and start traffic might be the place where we could benefit the most from this tech in the near term, as well as smoothing the flow of heavy congestion on highways (sort of a cruise that follows the car in front of you).
But as far as what you call it, it really doesn't matter. As some drivers get accustomed to its ability to control a car, and don't experience any adverse situations due to it, they will begin to take more and more risks with distracting tasks. Not different than what drivers do without assisted control, like driving with the knees or wrists while handling something, it is human nature. This tech just enables people to take it further.
It means if they are much safer than human drivers it doesn't really matter who they are prioritizing since everyone will be benefiting still.
Why not just have a setting and let the driver decide? That would take liability off of the manufacturer. You could set priority levels for various things, like orphan babies, jaywalkers, drivers. Cats would be very low priority by default.
Or maybe Netflix's algorithms show that we've all seen these movies already and don't watch them again.
I've seen every top 250 movie that I care to see, save maybe a few very recent ones. So I'm glad I'm not paying NF to stock movies I won't watch. Give me new material or give me bacon!
Its not likely to shift westward as it moves up the coast. It is more likely hit up in South Carolina if anywhere, but should be significantly weakened by then.
I prefer home movie watching for the convenience and savings. I'm more comfortable. But when I do go the theaters I rarely see the bad behavior that some here (that say they don't go) describe.
But its zactly like awto pilot by gawd. Only differnt.
It has to be deflating. Particularly when he's under such pressure.

In the end everyone will be a lawyer. If you can't afford a new pair of pants, sue the pants off someone else.
...that the Clinton machine hasn't had him taken out with a drone yet....
Why do that when you have the Obama machine to take care of it through other channels.
It was OK for a while, but once Wikileaks got into the pants of the DNC, Obama decided to either play hard ball, or offer them something.
Fat chance the timing is coincidental.
Whats really funny is that some folks here will take you seriously.
Nice cut and paste from wiki. But a cyber attack on a tritium lab doesn't get materials into the hands of anyone.

Why would we worry about a tritium lab?

I don't know, but they had better be on the watch for Galactic Warming.

Since when is any company with a website considered a "tech firm"?

There are plenty of ways to hurt people without direct confrontation.
It depends on how unusual it is for this to happen, as these devices are supposed to be idiot proof.
Those kids already can be hurting people in all kinds of ways today. Why are they waiting for this specific opportunity?
