    To quote WRH:
" Where is this fierce and capable enemy we were all told we had to destroy before they destroyed us? Where is the terror that we were told by our leaders we had to fear? All I see are helpless men with outdated equipment being slaughtered by a supertpower that raises the flag of conquest over their graves."

What if the Iraqi people don't want to pay the price of being "liberated"? What if they just want to be left alone, just like the Vietnamese, Cambodians and Laotians did.

Does anyone here realize that a certain middle east country has just buldozzed over a US citizen, and shot another. Isn't any of you going to take a stand against a deliberate attack on one of your own people? (They ran over her, backed up, and did it again) Hint: it's not an "Islamic" country either.

What as Iraq done to you? They used to have weapons of mass destruction. Great! So does China! Not to mention that the US government has used WMD's on it's own people (Waco) does this mean Canada would be justfied in invading the States? Why not? The same logic works doesn't it?

Oh, so YOU don't think so? Well, the rest of the WORLD definitely DOES!

You call us ungrateful? Read "Oliver Twist' and you'll understand why.

  4. Muslim perspective... on Copy That Floppy? Go To Jahannum (Hell) · · Score: 2, Interesting

It should be said that actually, the issue is not really theft according to Islamic doctrine, but adhering to and accepting an agreement. Essentially, when an agreement i.e. EULA has been made, it must be honoured.

Not that theft is not a sin ofcourse.. but I think the part about not breaching contracts / keeping one's word / honesty is probably more accurate.

  5. 2 issues. on The Great Firewall of .... Kuwait? · · Score: 1

First of all, the ONLY reason that this "repressive" government is there is because they are good friends with the US Government who is willing to defend them against any "civil disobedience". As long as the US Government has a strong role to play in Kuwaiti politics and tolerate all sorts crap for cheap oil, the electors don't have the right to complain. America is after all a democratic country, and you CAN tell your government what to and what not to do.. right?
Secondly, it's a cultural thing as well, western values and morals are not always the same as eastern values and morals. It does not always necessarily mean that one is better than the other, it's just the societies' history have determined a different set of values that has been agreed upon or imposed upon society. As time progresses, and society changes, so will their values.

I'd also like to point out that one of the first sex manuals was actually written by Arabs. It's not the Muslim Arab Raghead thing that is the problem, it's those damn dictatorships sponsored by hypocritical foreign powers.

  6. Re:Malaysia // Thailand on MP3s In Foreign Countries · · Score: 1

In Thailand, everything is nice and open. Major web portals do feature mp3 search engines, and it is the norm. Napster hasn't caught up because the Thai character set is incompatible, you try searching Napster for, example, à àÃÔ and you get everything but that.
Still, there is no need for napster, you can get CD's full of MP3's of different artists and genre from New Age, to Venga boyz to some good Underground for just $2.5 (and getting less and less as the currency slips away) as well as VCD/CD/MP3 players for about $50-$60. (I just got a portable one for $150!!)

Here, the main philosophy is "sabai sabai" or, translated roughly "take it easy". Anything goes :-)
