  1. Edward Snowden on Ask Slashdot: What Does Edward Snowden Deserve? · · Score: 1

He deserves the Medal of Freedom (the civilian equivalent of the Congressional Medal Honor) and a ticker tape parade down Broadway. He has done this country a great service by exposing the underbelly of a burgeoning police state under the guise of 'protecting us'. And I further believe that Obama, in allowing the NSA spying on ALL of our own citizens, has violated his oath of office: remember when he swore to uphold and protect the Constitution. For this, he deserves to be impeached! The fact that some secret "court" has decided that the NSA spying is legal DOES NOT MAKE IT SO! To quote two great American patriots: Patrick Henry - "Give me liberty of give me death", and Benjamin Franklin, who said "he who would give up liberty for security, deserves neither Liberty nor security"!!!!!!!!

  2. Illinois law banning drone surveillance of hunters on Illinois Law Grounds PETA Drones Meant To Harass Hunters · · Score: 1

I would encourage PETA to solicit collaboration by the ACLU and the Center for Constitutional Rights in challenging what seems an unconstitutional, biased law. (If, however, drones are not legal in IL, and that is the basis of the law, that's another matter). Personally, I'd like to see the use of drones banned completely, with the exception of search and rescue, and that goes for private and governmental use of ALL kinds.

  3. Edward Snowden on USA Today Names Edward Snowden Tech Person of the Year · · Score: 1

To quote an American Revolutionary War period hero, Patrick Henry, "Give me liberty, or give me death". And to paraphrase one of the greatest of the Founding Fathers of this so-called Democracy, Benjamin Franklin, 'those who would trade liberty for security, deserve neither liberty nor security'. For my money, I would impeach Obama for betraying the very spirit of the Constitution he swore to protect by moving us three steps closer to Orwell's 'Brave New World', and I would give Edward Snowden the Medal of Freedom for his selfless act of patriotism. Don't 'protect' me from terrorists at the expense of my fundamental liberties without my knowing and willing consent!
