To further comment on this, the OS the parent is referring to is Windows Fundamentals for Legacy PC's which is based off Windows XP Embedded, to be a replacement for the 9x/2000 machines that volume license customers with SA contracts may be using. It runs on less memory and processor and is up to date on patching (as up to date as XP can be). While this wasnt intended to be a full featured os (I believe its more for remote desktop and holding over old hardware until companies can upgrade), I have used it in vmware and have not had any major issues with it.

i was wondering the same thing. i got a dec hinote ultra 2 from work and the computer died so i kept the display. any way of hooking it up to my pc (any site i found about it is in chinese). thanks
My SDSL through northpoint is still working. My ISP called me today and said that they already ordered me a new circuit throuch Covad and that they have priority for Covad lines, and i should be back up in a short while. Atleast while the DSL is down, they are giving out dialup accounts. But covad sucks, and I dont want ADSL, so i guess its cable for me from now on.
But still, if you are talking about a large company or ISP (AOL/@home/etc...) most likely the WHOIS information is correct and will get you someone in the company that might be able to help you.
Try just doing a whois on the domain name then call the adminsitrative contact. Ive done that a few times, and either its the correct people (NOC) or they transfer you to them. Saves me alot of time going through tech support.

The Monorail is called the JFK Airtrain
My SDSL had a 80% uptime and bandwidth guarantee (of a 784kbps circuit, i was guaranteed 666kbps, and 80 out of 100 pings to my default gateway)
