you probably already know this, but dual systems generally require both processors to be the same speed and stepping.
since the PIII 500's are pretty new, it is conncieveable that there could be a move to a higher stepping, which would make it hard to find a match for your current processor.
adbusters.org has made some interesting propoals for a corporate "Death Penalty". To operate a corporation (at least in the US) you need to get permission from a state in the form of a licence or charter. Conversely, a company that behaves criminally can have it's charter revoked.
Quite the powerful concept, when you consider that the status quo is to let the company do bad and then punish them with fines. The fines don't always prevent bad future behavior, unless they are bankrupting.
An honest answer like "MTV sux because they no longer show videos and just do crappy shows like Road Rules" would be self incriminating, since he has been a "contributor" to Road Rules.
i doubt that anyone is advocating violence as reasonable behavior, but if he gets on the recieving end of some mild violence (not causing any real physical damage) as a direct result of repetedly tormenting others (who did nothing to him) then maybe, just maybe, he'll learn something.
There are certianly more effective and civilized ways to teach people to not be an assh***, but the "real world" (tm) kiddies aren't known for their stability, intelligence and matrity.
If I tease drunken jocks at a bar, it would be wrong of them to kick my ass, but that doesn't mean that any one would wanna listen to me whine about it, and I'm sure I'd have to field the question "What were you thinking?" more than once.
But don't kid yourself, this kid isn't "sticking it to the man", he just tormented his fellow inmates. MTV made money, used these kids and never suffered.
And here we are, prolongin his 15 minutes, supplying positive re-enforcement for showing his ass.
OK, we all know that there is no way to make this uncrackable and uncircumventable any time soon.
But if there is OS and hardware support for this encryption and rights management in the next decade, this could become *the* sound format.
This is a big bet that can only be played by the etremely wealthy. And don't forget that: 1) if OS and hardware support happen, all the major record companies will put all of their weight behind it! 2) Micro$oft controlls the OS market 3) hardware companies are aftraid to annoy their WinTel masters (see #2)
So it's a risk, but it's not an insane risk... if you already have a monopoly.
at many companies no one would even *think* of behaving that way... because they *know* that they are expeced to behave ethically and would be fired imediately for such bull****.
But, M$ employees have pulled stunts like this in the past and we can infer from current behavior that M$ turned a blind eye to their "a little over-passionate" but darling children.
Ummm... you are required by law to attend school when under 16, and you aren't allowed to arm yourself at school.
You have no 'right' to safety -- you have a responsibility for your own safety. Arm yourself if you think you're in danger. At least until the safety nazis make sure that only the Police have weapons (never ceases to amaze me that the same people who are always going on and on about Police Brutality are the ones that want only Police to be armed -- aren't these contradictory positions?)

What good is a massive power server if the protocols for sharing/managing it aren't there?
