Or You can pay me and my employes the amount you would have paid, or a little less, for the licenses you would have paid to MSF, to support your product.
See. Thats the beauty of OSS. I can pick up where other left..
If you think waiting to hours to see his nipple is well worth it, you have some deeper issues than watching HD-TV.
Besides, for the first time, my wife gonna watch some football, just to see the halftime show. You should have seen her eyes when she eard the news! (Prince in HD!?!?! hummmmmm) It will be the best night of my life for sure. I am gonna get it that night, and not because those man will wear tights!
Okay, this is getting ridiculous. By your logic, no company can ever send review units to any reviewer in any industry. This is obviously to promote Vista and get tech people reviewing it. Everybody does this, from movie studios to record labels to software publishers.
Maybe then should'nt. Maybe they should leave the bloggers acquire the laptopat regular price. Only then they will truely review the tech. as regular user would: with the price tag associated to it or the install processus associated to it. Its like BMW or Mercedes, or anygiven car manufacturers giving free cars to auto industry analysts.
See IBM. It as a deivision which still sells the closed source os AIX, and sells it well i might sugest. They dont go rambling how OSS is bad and CS is good and commercial. They are advocating OSS for crying out loud.
Even Microsoft is releasing OSS progams! Talk about the right hand that mask what the left hand is really doing: pick your pocket!
You are using a drawing board to design a patent application? Are you sure your are not violating anyone patent right there?
Who as pentented the use of an eloctronic device connected to a central processing unit via a short to small cable, which CU is connected to a power outlet and an network outlet to communnicate in an online web service that enable sharing of pointless, but witty, point of view?
It got the word "online" and "central unit", so it must be legite!!
But, (you saw that BUT coming did you:-P), when the social engineered mail bomb or trojan, uses a flaw in the OS to propagate itself, is it the fault of the user, or because of the bad OS design?
Like when Sasser, or Slammer, so many names I am mixing them up, was runnig wild on the internet, I had a dozen of email containing the trojan paylod and i opened them! thats right I opened them and nothing happen. Why? Because I was smart? No, I wished to make a point to my friend. I used Mozilla on Linux, nothing happen.I used Mozilla on Windows, same result, nada. Did I dared use Outlook? not in a million years. In fact, My wife, who is a computer newbie, use Windows XP has her OS, with full admin rights, because you know some programs just runs better, and has no problem surfing where ever she wants, reading emails from friends, even infected one. She dont use Outlook or IE, that is all I ask of her.
Anyway all this to say that no matter how competent you are, when your tools are broken, you will be broken. Period.
Number is factor. Competent user is another factor, and platforms are one more factor to consider.
P.S: Sorry for my english mistakes. I am a Canadian born french african.
So the solution is to produce an OS that educate its user to the dangerous activities of the net, not the "easy, just plug in and off you go" type mentality.
Like when you buy a car, you are supposed to have a license. Soon, you will need a "license", sort of, to buy a computer. A security course on how to be connected, wired, to communicate with the world via this blackbox that is a computer.
Or just buy a Mac.. *this is a joke!! dont flame me*
By the way between the Mac users (UNIX) and the Linux users (UNIX like), professional UNIX workstation, a virus, worm, trojan, is bound to happen. Does it not?
And I read something about progress been made in an earlier story, sometime beetween that date and today, I cant find the link.
Talk about been not included in the developement process.
No, We dont speak english in Here (I guess you mean Where, is that it?).
Peut être parlez-vous français aussi bien qu'anglais pour être aussi pédant à l'endroit des personnes qui ont la faculté de s'exprimer dans une langue qui ne leur est pas familière?
We will loose it in the center of the hearth and using it as a bouncing laser mirror to propel cities into space, while a mother at home will infect the 'net' and kill anything that threaten her mastery of her "domain".
Which community was quick at embracing the WEB when Al Gore created it? The Adult industry..
Which community use the most of the WEB as we speak? The Adult industry..
Which community has the most apeal to the common techy/nerdy crowd of today $lazy selfconciensious teannager? The Meat Your Match Only For a Quick Fantasy/Laid and share it with the world ala MySpace, Hi5...
WEB 2.0 will be built on community based phenomenon. And guess what, the OSS crowd was doing it, was enjoying it WAY before mass media pickted it up.
WEB 2.0 is nothing new. Its just a term invented by "thinker" for the unwashed mass.

I gather from your link que le presidential debates are false dilemmas?
23: False Dilemma (wiki): Two alternative statements are held to be the only possible options, when in reality there are more.

It is not illegal, it just smells funny..
No No.
:-)
You want to go the BSD way. "Always follow, never lead where you want to go today, one day, if ever."
That is their new slogan.
Why did I read "non-pronographic in nature" ?
:)
Man, its been a long time since the last "blast" (2 days).
"Honey! Were are U?"
This, mister, is called a smackdown. And the guy did not respond for a reason:
He was busy running away, his tail between his legs.
good post.

Like this guy has been saying all along, commercial sofware are more dependable, reliable....
For Hackers..
Queen: *dong* *dong* *dong* another one bites the dust!.
This is not strange at all.

So let me get this straight..
The JD (Governement) was denied a security clearance to investigate the wired taping by the NSA (a Governement's agency)?
WTF???
I am dreaming this or what?

Right. So all those web servers with apache, running linux account for how much % of the web (60,65,70 I dont know, check netcraft).
Image the botnet you can have if you can manage to compromise all of them, silently sending data, doing damages.
Numbers, numbers you said.
Try again.
This!?!?

I did not know that the swedish and the french language share the same word for the same state of cloth's wearing:
In french "nu" means naked..
>Remember Rule #1, demonize your opposition in the public opinion.
