Some of you are missing one very important point. one of the mayor issues over linux is the fight over the two interfaces. And which one is really better. In one hand we have that for a GNOME user in a way its better because KDE users are pushing the limits, and GNOME wants to stay on track (JUST AN EXAMPLE LET'S NOTRAISE THE DUST!) so the development goes along pushed, in way. On the hand one of the biggest alies Microcrap(TM)(C) is the fact that they have developed a standart. (Right Dos... what 'standart') but is true no matter how bad the standart is, this has launched them as a stable source of DEVELOPMENT!!! not any other kind of... stable. Thus gaining more confidence in new programmers, and/or newbie users who really never had a choice. There is no confusion... just one interface. If the two efforts could some how collide in one big project (KDE+GNOME)...(most of are screaming enlightment i know... but let's leave it there for moment) a single more modern interface running on top of X could consolidate a very serious threat towards the beast in redmond. And u all know what that means... more pinguin users:)
In any we can confirm that is a the right one -letter... went to the place a couple of times, and never saw it the supposed/jp site linked... then again i went for the real content (thing which antionline never had, and im damn sure IT WILL NEVER have... ). But im fair, lets assume there was such a a site (im not sure) well... damn, sick id be mad as hell. So what i do? talked it calmed and go fix things with Ken! not run away to mommy harvard... your adopted son is messing with me... jp out there is more serious, than in your own little world. meaby if u didn't have such a hated site that u'd have to spend 24/7 guarding the thing better than the pentagon because everyone that has a linux box, and has heard about u tries to hack it... u would know that out there, behind yer desk, in yer bought site... there is a real world
Ok i don't want to sound the like its different you're sell-outs. I mean the place is great, and even cooler for the guy's if they make some money. And even better if they managed to get a small fortune of out it! I mean the place was never comitted to... stayin-free of, profit. What im trying to say is... what it really matters is the content, and the spirit that it carries, along the interaction of a defined community. But i guess this whole mess has to do with the this last news, you guys wrapped up, like 4+ stories or whichever number it was in a single posting... with some:) and, am i the only one who missed "...Stuff that Matters"?

There are valid points on both arguments but Nick Petrely really takes it home. Bob unlike many PIII (Big brother inside), Windose users... many value our privacy...Not only by being part of an utopian movement of the skies... but seeing what exactly our machines are running, and how secure and reliable they are. So Linux might not slay of Win of they're current position anytime soon... but certainly it will not dissapear. People need security and stability on a realible base... just wait for the Win2000 exploits, then eat your column. While Nick Petrely keep up the good work!
