  1. Nice Rallye pictures!!! on Pepper Pad 2 Linux Web Pad · · Score: 1

Wow! I just spent some time looking through the linked rallye pics gallery (and then some other albums on the same site) and I must say, really good rallye pictures!

It'd be interesting to see exactly what you intend to do to the car through it's OBDII interface using this "PDA". Or did you just intend to do (extensive?) data-logging for analysis?

  2. Re:This time officially? on FreeBSD 4.6.2 Released · · Score: 1

Yes, this time officially. As can be seen (for now) on http://docs.freebsd.org/cgi/getmsg.cgi?fetch=0+0+c urrent/freebsd-announce

and will be in the regular archive in a week from now...

Now, I'm a bit frustrated because I *DID* submit the news myself earlier today but got it rejected.. Oh well. The release is official, but the website takes a while to be rebuilt from the SGML sources committed to CVS.

  3. Wiltel was not acquired by Worldcom (or was it?) on What's It Like Working For Worldcom? · · Score: 1

Actually, AFAIL, Wiltel (aka Williams in the states) have been acquired by Telus

  4. What about bridging two networks? on Beware Of 2.4 GHz Interference · · Score: 1

All of this is really cool, having an AP and cards for your laptops/PCs.. But what about bridging two networks together?

I am in a situation where all the PCs are networked together (wires), but I could link two networks, about 1-2 miles apart (maybe even less) using wireless stuff.

Is there such a thing as Ethernet-to-Wireless bridges that I could use, (I guess with directional antennas) that would not require other physical changes to the respective networks?

I could also be interested in any solution that would bridge the networks, but still provide an AP to local users, should I decide to go wireless for the laptops...

Obviously, these will probably cost more than your regular home stuff...

    Anybody has experiences to share?

  5. Examples of configuration for XDM / linuxgazette on Linux-Based Thin X-Terminals? · · Score: 2

While browsing the so-wide web, I came across an article in linuxgazette:

    http://www.linuxgazette.com/issue27/kaszeta.html

It explains in detail how to setup a machine to become an X-term, and some tips to make xdm look nicer!
