Tell me about it. Down here in New Zealand, if a shop doesn't have an EFT-POS (Electronic Funds Transfer - Point Of Sale) terminal, they start losing sales! It is usually as fast as cash, you still have control over your banking, and you can even get cash for those primitive, technologically deprived non-EFT-POS shops. Petrol station pumps have terminals so the station doesn't even have to be "open" at night.
However, for my account payment, i use my banks Internet banking services.
That one should give all Intel users the shivers. AMD are now leading Intel around by the nose. The announcement of the 1G Athlon has Intel mis-managment needing clean unides
Personally, I think it is nothing more than Intel FUD, but then I would say that, because I use the K5 and the K6-II in my machines at home. I suspect that, as with most other Intel offerings, when it does finally arrive, there will be rushed testing and bugs galore in the next design in a vain attempt to beat AMD to the punch.
I suspect that this is due to those pusbuckets at AOL trying to start dictating things to the NS programers.
A pathetic attempt at trying to force eveyone to use NS for their email (much like Eudora tried which Eudora Lite not doing UUEncoding but Eudora Pro doing so.
My recommendation: use a proper email program, instead of a monstrosity that tries to everything at once and fails miserably.

Sheesh!. Sad. So VERY sad.

What is this "his tag" shit?
Just another head-up-the-ass psycohobabblelist trying to pretend he knows something, when in fact all he shows is that he is so full of shit that he needs an enema the size of the Hoover Dam.
This is not the first pizza vending machine developed. I recall one that was featured on a science/technology show in the late eighties or early ninties. All the ingredients were sliced or, in the case of the cheese, grated onto the base then it was blasted in one of those superduper (for the time) infrared cooking gadgets. Never went anywhere tho. Not a large enough critical mass of puter geeks and Net geeks yet
Warner Bros. Co-Chief Executive Officers Daly and Semel said in a statement that they were ``deeply saddened by the loss of Stanley Kubrick, a towering figure in the world of film and a deeply loved and respected member of the Warner family for nearly three decades.
``Stanley's unique vision and protean abilities as a filmmaker have fascinated and inspired audiences and colleagues for almost a half-century; we join them in extending our heartfelt sympathies to Stanley's widow, Christiane, and his daughters, Katharine, Anya and Vivian.
``We were fortunate to have screened the just-completed 'Eyes Wide Shut,' Stanley's final picture, last week. It is a fantastic movie and a fitting close to a tremendous career. We look forward to sharing this movie when it is released as planned this summer and believe that it is a tribute to a remarkable and unforgettable man. We will miss him very much.''
There was also another news release I saw elsewhere that said Eyes Wide Shut would be released as scheduled in the U.S. on July 16. So we will get to bask in the Masters magic one last time.

At work we use Intel, mainly because that is what was supplied with the box.
At home I use (and have uses since the 486) AMD because I could do so.
I have upgraded my CPU several times and if they had all had these serial numbers then I would have been stuffed because none of my software would have worked after the CPU change.
Intel can go take a long walk of a short pier as far as I am concerned. AMD does the same job for half the cost. And they don't try nasty little things like this.

You paid have nothing to read/participate in /. and hide behind AC, so deserve no say in the matter.
IMHO, I say congrats to CT and Hemos.
Now, C & H, I have this idea for a .......
Typical of the asshole marketers out there. This is unfortunately one of the side effects of the commercialisation of the Net.
