  1. Books by Christopher Alexander on Books that Changed Your Life? · · Score: 1

I would recommend "The Timeless Way of Building" or "A Pattern Language". Both are very good books.

  2. Headphones on Soundproofing a Cubicle? · · Score: 0, Redundant

You can always get a nice pair of headphones. Grado or Seinnhaiser(sp?) come to mind.

  3. Re:Pilot VBall Extra fine on When Word Processors Are Out: What's The Best Pen? · · Score: 1

I second it. I have a stash of 10 or so of these pens in my cup. I always have one in my back pocket, in my car, by my phone, in my rucksack. I whip it out when I have to sign credit card receipts. Very very nice pens.

  4. Get a Scottevest on Avoiding the Bat-Belt Syndrome? · · Score: 4, Interesting

Go to ScotteVest and put all of your gadgets in there.

  5. Go with IBM Thinkpad on Apple-Quality Intel Laptops? · · Score: 3, Informative

I do all of my development on my IBM Thinkpad T23, with built-in wireless and Ethernet. It is a workhorse and has not let me down. IBM is a great company with excellent support for their products.

  6. Teas of the world on I Want Names for my Servers! · · Score: 1

I've named my two servers after teas: Chai and Oolong.

Another guy I know has 6 servers and has used other tea names for his, so that we don't collide.

  7. Re:We use elements for our box names on I Want Names for my Servers! · · Score: 1

Heh... funny thing, our company uses elements for the box names as well.

I think we ran out of elements so now we're using compounds (sucrose, glucose, caffiene).

Anonymous Coward: Do you work for Cobalt?

  8. Get a Dictionary! on Free Software and the Innovators Dilema · · Score: 2

I keep seeing misspelled words in the title of the postings, and within it. If people are to take this site seriously, you guys either need to learn how to spell correctly, or get a copywriter.

    "Dilemma" is not spelled "Dilema"

Look it up... I'm sick of this.

  9. "a ell-argued piece" ??? on Is Sun Truly A Friend of Linux? · · Score: 1

Don't you people ever check your spelling or look at what you are typing? Ell-argued? C'mon.

At least pretend to be educated to some extent.

  10. New Logo, lets get it right this time on Debian Logo Continues · · Score: 1
I agree with Leper about Raul's design. There might be some concerns with the logo looking similar to one already being used by Sun.

Whatever logo is picked, I would like it to have a clean, distinguished look, much like what Raul has done.
