Parents put me through college, they get free tech support for life. To the rest of the world I play an odd twist of dumb: "I don't know how to use that particular program, but I could write one that does something similar, if you can wait a few months..."
Actually, his point seems to be that optimization doesn't necessarily rely on your choice of tools. He wrote (and optimized) his program in a VM environment, and his performance was pretty good.
He even goes about it in a rational way:
1-write the program correctly (includes functional testing) 2-test with an eye on performance 3-make changes 4-goto 2
I can think of 2 uses for a satellite based communications system: military comm & planetary colonization. Would make a good sci-fi story, maybe it already has. Anybody read something like this?
Does anybody know the status of an ex-convict? Can that person vote? I was under the impression that by breaking a law, certain rights were forfeit. And remember, probation means that an ex-convict is still under watch and presumably punitive measures. Which is why I ask about rights in general, specifically voting rights.
How can something created by a private company have free speech issues? What if they just shut down the game...would this be a freedom of assembly issue? Would you file a lawsuit against verant for abusing your constitutional rights, seeking an order to FORCE them to run the game?
So, if a company provides a service, that company decides what is required of people who use that service. If you don't like this, you don't have to play.
Of course, I've heard that to stop playing EQ is akin to kicking heroine...

Did anybody else have kids (and I mean 15-20 yrs) calling out in the middle of the flic, "Why the hell is it dark...I can't see ANYthing. This isn't scary!"
I was under the impression that a fast majority of kids did NOT like the movie, but the 20-35 yr crowd (for the most part) enjoyed and were scared by it.

Notice he didn't obsess about performance in 1.
I don't hear any mention of them fixing the atrocious plot changes, so I'm really hopeless.
The Ents are tricked into attacking?
