Linux users should be happy they're getting anything at all. There is no reason for them to bother. There certainly isn't any money to be made selling a Linux client. They certainly won't recoup their costs for Linux development.
If I was Bioware, I would just kill it and save all the bitching and moaning coming from the incredibly small minority of users who plan to run in on Linux.
They have bigger fish (read: Windows) to fry, and people wanting a Linux client are nothing but a pain in their ass.
Suck it up! Face it, so long as there's no money to be made with Linux games, no one's going to jump through hoops to make 'em.
Just my $0.02, but JEdit fills the gap that BBEdit Lite leaves, and has all of the (and more) capabilities of BBEdit Lite with the added bonus of being cross-platform.
There is no way Bioware will port any more games to Linux. They've learned their lesson.
Look at KOTOR. Same engine as NWN, but they will never port it to Linux.
