    Pah.

Honestly I don't know. I'd guess that the most efficient way to set up a dos attack on a wintel box is to use it to telnet to a decent platform and do the attack from there.

I don't know, and chances are very few people know, but does the backdoor "phone home" to say it's ready and waiting?

And don't underestimate solitaire. It's globally acknowledged as one of the most efficient productivity killers around.

  2. DOS attack. Or solitaire, for that matter. on Massive DDoS Attack Brewing? · · Score: 3

Looks like the DOS attack was just dragged in for publicity's sake: "Once opened, the file infiltrates the computer, turns it into a "zombie" machine controlled by hackers.
It can then be used to launch a denial-of-service assault."

Yes of course. But then, it can also be used to launch solitaire. Sounds pretty upsetting to me.

Would you believe it? A quick past from the Suse review:

SuSE is more difficult to install than Red Hat, but its phone support option makes it a viable choice for businesses looking to use Linux,
especially since it costs $20 less than Red Hat's.

The mind boggles. Is this review aimed to inform businesses about Linux as an alternative to, say, NT or Solaris? Who are you kidding? I honestly don't know what to make of this.

Anyone else who had latin in school?

As far as I remember this is the fourth declension. So that would make the nominative plural virus.

But maybe such a thing is too hard to grasp elsewhere in the world, so we end up with inventions like viri, virii, vira, viruses. (At least that one seems straightforward so we might as well stick with it.)
Have not seen virae yet, but that is only a matter of time.

Networks Solutions? I've dealt with them in a technical support capacity: About the most clueless lusers and badly trained monkeys I've seen in quite some time. I could go into detail but that might make me traceable. Let me just say it helps if the monkey you're dealing with knows which OS he's running.
Don't want to deal with them again.

I have. There's a Tintin story where it pops up.

    Looks pretty immature to me.
Funny thing is that most of them are displayed with e-maiil address and all. It seems the writers have little experience with the fact that e-mail, especially a strongly worded one, can just go off and start living a life of its own.
And then all over sudden things look a lot different. For instance, would you do business with Pekka.Honkonen@tieto.com at www.tietotech.fi?
