    They have a big reason. They don't want to become unpaid volunteers at a corporation. They don't want other people to take their code and make money selling it.

    Maybe to you that's not significant. So what if Bill Gates steals your code and makes another billion or two? Some people don't want that to happen.

    Once again so what? Do I really care if some clueless twit isn't using linux? I am happy they aren't using linux. They should stay as far away from linux as possible. Using linux will in all likelyhood make their little heads explode.

    There is no reason to make yourself a slave to other people's whims just because somebody *might* not use linux unless you get on your hands and knees and server them like a good little dog.

    Tell them call IT or MS, it's not your job and you have better things to do.

    If you don't agree to it then it reverts back to copyrights of the coders. If you don't agree to the GPL then you have to get all the authors persmissions.

    You are talking about copyright. GPL gives you rights, it does not take them away.

    The authors copyright takes away your rights to artistic progress, GPL allows you to use the authors work under certain circumstances.

    Does it really matter? Isn't the fact that MS is willing to support windows one of it's selling points?

    People buy windows because they can get support for it, why should they be pissed off if someone tells them to call Microsoft and get support for it?

    Completely irrelevant. If you are a democrat and you go see terminator you are giving money to Arnold so he can work against your interests. Why give money to your enemy?     Think about it. The terminator is coming out soon and everyone will flock to see it. THis will make Arnold more money so he can run for governor of california as a republican.

    As my sig says. Why would any democrat let alone california democrats go see this movie? Why not boycott it and at least send a message to Arnold?

    It's because people can't think outside of their own narrow interests that's why.

    This guy is clearly off his rocker. Think about the possible escalation of his plan.

    Could a recording company burn down your house in order to destroy your computer? What if you had a firewall and they could not destroy it via other methods? Could the cops break down your door and take a sledgehammer to your computer?

    Scary thoughts huh?

    You know what's funny though? If you asked him he would sprout off his usual shpiel about evil govmit, and personal freedom and such.

    Scientology did something like this to the IRS. They crushed the IRS under a rain of lawsuits from inidividual members.

    I don't think the OSS community is as organized, as well funded or as dedicated to their cause as scientology (or any other religion really).

    Judging by how many hostile posts there are on slashdot towards anything GPL I would say that your idea of filing many suits will go nowhere.
