You may think differently, but I have information that 80% of dot-com businesses are in danger of catastrophic failure due to cybercrime and what's more -- oh, never mind now...
It's not for no reason that prostitution is called "the world's oldest profession." And porno is simply the extension of sex trade to the net. It was the first and best way to make money on the internet (and still is).
If you feel strongly about it, let Yahoo know. This is a lot like Wal-Mart choosing to sell porno tapes. Personally, I'd rather porno was something that you have to decide you want to find -- like video stores that have a curtained-off "adult section", rather than between the comedies and dramas. Think of it as opt-in. Having it on Yahoo is more like opt-out.
...was with the title "Broadband from World's (second) Tallest Building", in deference to the fact that Petronas in Malyasia is technically the world's tallest, though that's only counting the spire, etc., etc.
I don't think Taco realized the flamefest he was starting by deleting that little word in parentheses. Anyway, I do live in line-of-sight to the Sears Tower, but I'm a tad out of reach of the Petronas Towers, so I guess I'll have to live with the shame of getting broadband from the second banana in the skyscraper world.
Actually, this just is a great opportunity for the next Great Search Engine. Look at how well Google has done just indexing a small portion of the web (1%, according to the article). So that leaves the door wide open to anyone who can crack the puzzle of how to keep up with the web. If word gets around that something is better than Google, it'll be huge. You can say "oh, no one can index the whole web accurately," but there is someone out there with the brains and courage to try it -- and succeed.
OK, let's say you wanted the world to hear your voice. How would you do that? By trying to get print, radio, TV, or other "traditional" media to distribute your message, either by paying for it, or being newsworthy enough to get it for free. Certainly that is a much more difficult barrier than submitting to on-line moderation. With a site like slashdot, there is less control than an editor has over his newspaper, or a producer over a news broadcast. But there is still control. It's a necessary evil in a world of flamers and spammers, hot grits, goatsex, and whatever else.

It's about time he got the recognition he deserves for his contributions to American comedy...

If Linux/Free software in general is no real threat, why bother with this interview?
