So are you saying here that you believe that the atomicly complex things we use every day - screw molecules - are there because of RANDOM chance?
What are the chances of a program generating the correct answer, through random numbers and equations? So far, it's not been done. What are the possibilities that it could be done with something MUCH more complex? I mean, it's taken thousands of years to write programs to generate near-random numbers. Is it possible for things like atoms, quarks, and probably infinately complex structures to be random? COMPLETELY random? And still function as a whole? Shouldn't a random outlook suggest that things should be chaotic? IMMENSE systems of life forms rely on each other. How can one look at this and NOT think that there was a higher being, a Creator, who a LEAST set the whole thing in motion, 'wrote' the initial instructions for this universe? Will we EVER begin to understand something as SMALL as the atom? But what if the universe was, in fact, inside a quark, in another universe somewhere? (unproven, but a possibility)
Could all this be random?
If you misplace an item, or throw it randomly into a messy room, what are your chances of finding it?
How would you explain the geographical evidence supporting the flood? It's impossible for fossils to be formed SLOWLY. In order for fossils to be formed, they must be deprived of oxygen, and massive ammounts of weight be applied to them. You may say tar pits, small floods, etc. However, how can you account for fossils on EVERY continent on the planet? You can't, it's impossible. There would have had to have been a large body of water covering the entire surface of the earth, that rose very quickly. The so called sedimentary levels that were formed over time are bogus. They're different depending upon where in the world you look. (they're in different orders). There are countless other instances, but, alas, it's 4 AM, and work must be done.
Is it just me, or does this company take Americans for stupid, unintelligent, consumers, and nothing more? Of what practical, or even imagined, purpose would it be to broadcast 1000 words into space? In an attempt to contact ET lifeforms? From my standpoint, this seems as the only application. Even in this application, it's practically pointless. We've not discovered any such ET yet to speak of, nor would the tool their using provide enough power to do so. Half a watt of power isn't enough to get out of my basement. Things in space will knock the signal into oblivion before it got to Saturn. IMO, it's merely a ploy, a get-rich-quick scheme that's not worth a cent.
If you believe it, mail me, and I'll give you a better deal.
If, in fact, this is true, the child that did this feat was extremely smart. It makes one wonder several things. This was an incident in a city setting. How many similar events have happened in the country, or even gone undetected in the city or overlooked?
There is an exception to your "only on an island" theory. If you live in Minnesota, South Dakota, or the likes, you won't have a problem. There aren't enough electrical devices in these areas to worry about electrical interference. (Well, in most areas, anyway...)
Ya know, I often jump in glee when I think that I have first post, but then, sadly, I'm disappointed by my efforts.

Exactly. Couldn't have said it better myself. And the thing is, absolutes are bashed as the thing that _destroys_ American society, not builds up. American society as a whole claims that a relative view is what builds enlightenment. Relativism, in actuallity, claims that whatever anyone believes is right for _them_. So, according to popular cultural belief, this act of genocide was morally right for these guys to preform.
It is, once again, a result of declining morality in America in combination of the philosophy that man is evolving to something better. It invokes the mindset that, no matter what happens, man is getting better.
If you people believe in praying to God, the God spoken of in the Bible, I urge you to pray for our society, our government, and our president. Anyone can complain about something that is bad, but most don't have the mental discipline to do anything about it.
CAIMLAS Relativism is the absolute belief that there are absolutely not absolutes.
