Hell if customers should be informed and able to make competent purchasing decisions... informed and self-interested customers would utterly destroy Comcast's entire business model.
One of the traditional problems that has stopped self-interested customers from destroying Comcast's Business model has been the fact that they are the only high-speed service available. That is changing. The moment that Verizon offered Fios to my house, we switched. So far, I have yet to hear anyone say, "We are staying with Comcast." Further, I think that the blocking issue we are discussing here is only a symptom of the broader problem, that being deplorable customer service.
Customers need not be up to speed on this particular issue. All they have to do is call the customer service department.
Who gets to do the shocking? What would be great is if there was a system that would let fellow passengers decide who gets shocked. If, for example, 5-10 people request someone is shocked, then down they go. This would be a real incentive for parents to not let their kids run wild on planes. Imagine all the other rudeness that could be eliminated.
First and foremost, thank you for catching the error of omission in my original post.
Interesting that you (incorrectly) assume I am a Christian then proceed to proselytize accordingly, even admitting that your opposition to a religion other than atheism is "violent." You then resort to name calling to advance your position. There is actually a fallacy in logic for just this situation (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/No_personal_attacks). You are proving my point about your religious fervor for your beliefs.
Why is it that most religious people I meet are Atheists?
I am so pleased to see that there is sooooo much tolerance here for people who have different beliefs than those who post here. It is awesome that so many of you who bash this organization are probably also big time 1st amendment thumpers. I guess if someone has a different opinion than you, you don't support THEIR 1st amendment rights.
I am sure that if the BSA did allow homosexual scout leaders many of you would liken them to the "Jesus Freaks" in the Catholic Church. I admire the BSA for standing up for that in which they believe. I for one hope that the BSA get all the help they need and more.
At the risk of seeming pedantic, it is not friction that causes the heat on atmospheric re-entry, but rather the compression of the gases in front of the vehicle. I am not sure about the SR-71 as it does not leave the atmosphere.
Assuming that you are sure you are going to major in CS I would advise that you pick the school with the larger CS department. 12 CS grads a year sounds like a small program. I would imagine that you will have a lot of classes you would like to take canceled for lack of enrollment. Also if you compare the number of CS majors (presumably 48) to the number of say communications majors or business majors and find that you would be outnumbered by a factor of 10 or so, you have to ask yourself, "How much of a priority is the CS program to the university's administration?" You may find your self in a crappy program that is under funded with discontented or low quality instructors.
Well Said, GameMaster! That the USA is a Republic is a fact that is lost on an unfortunately large percentage of our population. For those who would like a Democracy in the USA I pose the following questions.
If we were a democracy and the people chose everything, what do you think would be the result of the following ballot initiative:
Should the USA have a national religion? Yes, No
Would more than 50% of the USA vote yes?
Let's say they did. Then two years later this ballot initiative appears:
What should the national religion of the USA be? Christianity, Judaism, Islam, Other
It is conceivable that within 4 year to 8 years of becoming a Democracy, this country would degenerate into a Christian Theocracy.
Ah, Democracy . . . the last stop on the path to Dictatorship.

No amount of e-voting data will ever have the same integrity of ballots I can see, touch, count and recount.
This is a more cogent way of stating my point.
