    Users are not protecting the mp3s with this encryption. They're protecting the list of song titles which they compiled, to which (I think) they do have copyright.

    Time travel in that show was just a way to have a whole new set of characters every week. Very cool actually, although the science in the show was totally pathetic.

    I didn't watch it all that much, but I don't recall time travel entering as a plot element very often (except as the one thing he has to "put right").

    I wonder if they could do a similar thing in the Star Trek universe, only with good science?

    What about those aliens that the Borg were afraid of? The ones who made a whole simulation of Starfleet Academy, and the leader took on the persona of the famed groundskeeper Boothby?

    I stopped watching Voyager after that, but until then they seemed to have a lot of potential.

    The one name variant you didn't list on your site is the most obvious one: Free Open Interface License (FOIL).

    Anyway, I don't think it's realistic to try to compel companies not to protect their IP. But wait and see: free and open alternatives are slowly winning over proprietary interfaces in all kinds of places.

    There's no need to compel businesses to stop doing something that's unprofitable.

    Flamebait? I thought this one was interesting. Sheesh, some moderators need to stop injecting their own personal opinions into their work. Guys, the negative mod points are there to mark down things that are inappropriate, not just things that are controvercial. If you can't tell the difference, stop moderating.

    No wonder this guy posted anonymously. It's this kind of thing that makes me glad for metamoderation.

    It sounds like either Van Gogh painted some unusually detailed and accurate paintings, or people are just reading too much into what are effectively works of fiction. Well, the house with the filled-in window was pretty impressive evidence of the former, so perhaps Van Gogh was more of a photographer than an artist.
