Oh my God, this strangeness as you call it was so wonderful. A story line where you couldn't predict the ending 10 minutes into the show. A story line where you genuinely cared and empathized with the characters. A story line that made you pay attention and think once in a while. Not your usual bland TV fare but oh so much fun.

What's amazing to me is that shareholders of the record companies aren't just slamming the RIAA for insisting on continuing supporting a brain dead business model. I wonder if an informational letter writing campaign to shareholders explaining the other side of the issue would get their attention? I've also thought about buying a few shares of some of the record companies stock and then attending the shareholders meetings. Then use this forum to slam the RIAA in front of the shareholders. I don't understand why the shareholders are allowing this crap to continue. It's pretty obvious from any rational look at the industry that the RIAA is not helping profits.

That was exactly my thought. Why would they want a better search engine since they would be censoring a lot of it anyways. Maybe the idea is by building a better search engine they can do better censorship.

And all of this sputtering vile has nothing to do with the issue at hand. An agreement was signed and is binding. Oh, I guess if you have enough fanatic followers you can pick and choose which legal contracts you honor. This is so typical of someone like Steve Jobs who thinks he's above such mundane things as the law. Geez, this law suit couldn't have come as a suprise to anyone.

The entire thing boils down to me is the if I bought an iPod that I can very well do what I want with it. If I choose to modify it's function then it is none of Apples's concern. End of story. I am getting really tired of companies trying to limit my use of their product.

Jeez! Does Microsoft come up with anything new anymore? Their entire business plan seems to be to find something someone else is making money on and to copy it.

I have a feeling that this is the behavior pattern of a dinosaur as it goes off to die. In this industry it really is innovate or die, which gets harder and hardeer as a corporation gets large and lethargic. Again, I think Microsft rewally is their own worst enemy.

  9. Re:What's Ximian Up To? on Gnome 2.2 Released · · Score: 1

Ximian seems to refuse to update to use newer OS releases or to go to gnome 2.0. They initially said 2.0 end of year, now they are saying spring. They seem to be too busy hawking Evoultion and their connector to spend any real time on their original core business. Probably because they are charging a fair chunk of changefor the connector. It too bad they were doing a great service be having a good desktop that you could easily keep up to date.
