I have been messing with a few options for a while, including the above software options. I finally went out and purchased radioshark http://www.griffintechnology.com/produ cts/radiosha rk/
It has an underpowered interface, but it works well.
i AGREEE, that was a good article. It was interesting to hear their side of the issue. I think Lars did a good job on actually answering all the questions, in some kind of way.
I believe that you can never kill Unix. It will just change to another variant. Can you imagine an internet run by MS-DOS or WinNT. Every DNS server out there could become Windows98. I just don't see a more reliable and adaptable system available. I would not consider myself anti microsoft, but on the server level they cannot compete as the foundation. Unless something really changes.
I think the teachers need to become more aware of technology in general. Not just open source movements but also other venues. School are often behind times in technology. However, students could benefit from advance technology education. Programming is not applicable when you learn on a Mac. Linux / open source gives students a great opportunity to learn and participate. It once again stems back to the teacher to make the push to gain this knowledge.
I agree that the lack of AMD support is probably from an Intel influence. I have no problems with intel, however for a company to push "Open Source" why not have an open mind with chip selection.
It seems to me that he skated the question. It is possible that with the use of AMD the price gap may drop.
Job Well Done That was a good insight into/. I read an earlier post about using Andover as a spill-over for stories that do not make it on/. Can we consider the fact that people may head to andover only because of/. or are people finding/. by going to andover?
Great article. I am however interested in the reasons for wanting to oust Linux for *BSD. After reading such a valiant argument for Linux I almost forgot *BSD existed.

I agree. If you love what you do then it is easy to get up in the morning and work.
I agreee... This is a great step and will hopefully bring linux to the point where choosing which server to place an app on does not matter.

Keep on pushing knowledge.....
If this is the case we will all have to get out our albums and 8 tracks in protest. If I purchase a CD, shouldn't I be able to do what I want with it?

Once again well done. Gotta love HOPE.
