I agree with the masses here, if I get outside ads, I'm done. However, they do have ads in a manner of speaking. Netflix has implemented a horrible auto-play feature on whatever show they're featuring. It's usually very loud and hard to skip without being really quick. One night I was watching a fairly quiet show. I paused it and fell asleep in the living room. However many hours later, after the Roku version of Netflix decided it was time to return to the Netflix home screen, the Fuller House promo began playing in all of its almost-clipping loud glory. I wish I had a video of me jumping out of the recliner and diving at the stereo system.
So yeah, I want *no* ads. Ads for your own content, especially auto-playing ads count. I'm looking at you too, SiriusXM. Commercial-free my behind.
That's it, I'm calling for the arrest of *all* JavaScript developers. Haven't we suffered enough?
Also we should arrest whoever did whatever they're talking about in this article because that sounds bad too.
Not only will this thing be great for those of us who love to run PovRay and virtual machines, but hopefully we're well on our way to software designers actually getting comfortable with parallelizing workloads.
It seems like most major software packages finally support 64-bit processing (shaking my head at ArcMap), and even video games are being dragged along by the new wave of consoles. Maybe they'll be more agile in the future.
Do modern, development-focused CS degree programs talk about multiprocessing?
