Really, I don't think there is any one answer to this particular problem. Personally, white text on a black background makes my eyes get all wonky, so I usually code in a white background with color-coded code. In a terminal session, I usually use a muted green on black, as the green doesn't make my eyes bug out. But plenty of other people seem to have no problem with white text on a black background, and even prefer it. So basically, try a few and see what works best for you.
What about Scalix? It has a very good web client, but also works with Evolution if needed. It has good calendar support and various other goodies. We're thinking of switching from Domino/Notes to save costs.
By the way, I'm an Apple user for the record, and I want an iPod BAD. I thought it was worth mentioning, though, that someone is *finally* trying to compete with the iPod, which may drive down their rather exhorbitant prices. Looking at the features and knowing Creative's penchant for rather clunky interfaces, I'd rather spend more for the iPod, but who can afford it?

I fucking hate Microsoft. That is all.
There are a bunch of Firewire webcams. They're just more expensive.
