Why is free software a right? It COSTS companies to make software, why should they then give this software away for free? Software developers need to live, how can you EXPECT them to give products of their time and hard work away for nothing?
Freedom of speech is a human right, the right not to be discriminated against, the right not to be torturted and killed, all of these are human rights.
Free software on the other hand is NOT a human right. Should McDonalds give their hamburgers away for free? Should Dell give me a free laptop?
ONLY IF THEY WANT TO!
The world doesn't owe you a living, just as you expect to be paid when you goto work, companies and individuals also have a right to expect fair compensation. If they wish to donate their time and effort to 'society' that is fine, but you are no-one to demand that they do so.
