You could say that about any currency. Replace crypto currency with USD in that sentence. Criminals are attracted to money. Cash is just as if not more so anonymous than most cryptocurrencys. Criminals love cash!
I'm an electrician and computer nerd have been both for 15+ years and have been a computer nerd far longer. I make nowhere hear 6 figures, yet I understand electronics and computers a lot better than most of the users I see on slashdot.

You muddied wine with playing games on Linux. Steam has thousands of games that have native Linux support. No wine no vm. There are tons of Indy games available for the platform. You're correct in most likely not playing AAA games on Linux. However with PCIE Passthrough once you get it setup, it's done it's just like having Windows desktop on bare metal. Also once microsoft no longer supports Windows 7 what will you do? How do you plan to play the latest and greatest games then? And just because one YouTube content creator couldn't Linux doesn't mean it's hard for someone that has half a brain and knows how to use google. My point originally was for people not to complain about abuse when there are other options. I got tired of the Microsoft abuse years ago, I decided it was time to make Linux my full time OS.
4000 euros? what kind of "supercomputer" are you trying to build? If a new Ryzen system costs you more than $1000 USD total(no GPU) you did something wrong. I even was able to get NVMe drive and 3466MT/s ram with my expensive at the time motherboard and cpu, and it costed $800 only thing i didnt buy was a case and PSU so even with those $1200 tops unless you go with some crazy shit for "looks" in which case dont complain about cost.
Mr. Logic. Here is some logic you may want to think about. You may have to learn something, to use something thats new(to you). Unless youre planning on using PCIE Passthrough, gaming on linux isnt hard at all considering most games for linux come from steam. The main reason people want to switch to linux is because windows has pissed them off, be it crashes, spying, forced upgrades, you name it microsoft has pissed off hundreds of users with it. Considering the upsides you get with linux, Stability, Security(providing youre not a complete idiot) and last but most important... It does what you tell it to!! -- thats the main advantage imo. So, every now and then you may have to work(I know, nobody wants to work to better their self) and learn something, to make life easier and better in the long run.
Firmware supporting zen+ has been available for about 4 months now, any motherboard bought off shelfs today should be compatable with any AM4 processor available. Unless ofcourse you buy a motherboard that has been very unpopular since the start, and the store bought a bunch last year.. Chances are slim that you will still find one without updated firmware.

I agree, but something has to make them "different" from the rest. And always need HDMI ports. Too much stuff has only HDMI and converting cables and adapters normally suck and sometimes older devices will refuse to use them.
I agree with all but the lack of remote.. Some tv's and monitors are s pain in the ass to change input on without a remote. I have a small ASUS monitor with one of those touch sense button panels on the bottom. If carbon paper, even receipts gets near it it senses input and fucks off.. Remote please with all those inputs. And don't for get DP, it is the future of connections just needs time like HDMI.
That can be a pain in the ass even. I would rather have to select input because auto sensing crap will switch in the middle of what you put on because the DVD looped in the player your kid forgot to turn off.
I don't get the complaint. Chances are the stuff in the new kernels won't even work on legacy hardware. Put your big boy pants on, download an older flavor and get some back ported security patches and you're in the game.. Problem solved.. Linux on old hardware is easy, sometimes. The hard part is finding a distro that works with little modification. If you're trying to run Linux on old hardware you're already doing it for fun anyways because if it was for production you would already.
What OS are you running? I used to have issues with older Ubuntu and Debian and basically anything that uses old PulseAudio. Most have switched to ALSA which isn't too much better but works. I used to manually have to strip pulse and force the OS to use ALSA. But those days are fortunately over. And for ease of use Ubuntu 16.04 and Debian 9 from experience.

There are plenty of ways around this, unless people are going to completely block anonymous(proxy's and ToR) communication with their servers.

RC1 stands for Release Candidate 1. Meaning you're free to try it but is is not a mainline release so don't complain about bugs, help them get fixed.
