According to EFF some states have had S-DMCA since 2000. Am I reading the site wrong and that those dates are not referring to S-DMCA but something else?
Also, I live and work in Maryland where according to info on EFF, this bill has been in effect since 2001 and I heard nothing about it and it hasn't caused any problems with NAT's, proxies, etc.
Has it been around for a while and now they are trying to enforce it in some places but not in others?
I tried to review the michigan and Maryland bills but I'm not a lawyer and my legal speak is pretty bad so I'm wondering what the big difference is.
The idea of taking the car that the person was in at the time of the arrest is fine. But the idea presented here is this:
If I am a police office and I think (and even have a very good reason to believe so) that this person I am about to arrest has information that will be important in court but it is in his house and if I believe he will destroy Then I have the right(and duty) to go in get this information so I can protect it from being destroyed. Then get a warrent to arrest him and search the house.
If they think it could be destroyed they have the right to go and get it without a warrent?
That is a very disturbing thought.
You don't need the CD for Unreal Tournament on Windows based systems after it's been installed once.
So you would only have to walk once... for each computer but that's why you just set up a shared CD drive.
It may be different on Linux systems.. haven't had a chance to play with that yet.
