The topic shouldn't so much be this cool hardware for sale, but rather the desperate things that Russia is doing for quick cash... like sending up this tourist guy (who does have some good experience with the space program it turns out). Still, I wouldn't trust any non-essential people with a national space mission. Poor Russia, they should just go back to Communism!
Although I think NASA has no balls whatsoever these days, it was in fact the Hubble repair mission that inspired me to get a science degree. So besides the scientific value, the romantic purpose certainly helps as well.
... will save on data storage, so you don't need a continuous recording. I use Oculus for this purpose (with a Mac). It's great, you can set the sensitivity that triggers the recorder, which can be just about any video standard (it even supports some exotic standards). Other recomendations: consider lighting conditions (ie night-time lighting), and don't accept anything less than 1600x1200 cameras. Multiple cameras are a good idea too, with back-up power, and MULTIPLE RECORDING DEVICES (ie both on and off-site hard drives).
