After reading the article it looks like it is getting better. The way that consumer electronics are going I bet we will only need this particular mineral for another 20 years at most then something else will be used. So the impact will be temporary at most
I am so discusted by the in action of the majority of the general public on all of these issues with copyright and the law. I am currently dual booting between Mandrake 8.0 and XP RC2, The differences are obviously noticable but they are very similar in Look and Feel. And I'm sorry if i offend any old timers but that is what is important to new "Non Literate" users, the look and feel. Thy don't care how powerful the command line is or about how many differennt ways that you can manipulate a file. They just want it to be pretty and do neat visual things for them. They want security to be something that they don't have to worrry about. When I am in Mandrake the box is tighter then a drum but in Xp i am as open like a 5 dollar hoar. ZoneAlarm, BlackIce Defender, Nukenabber, MCafee, Norton, THEY ALL WON'T WORK!
I have read that they are all releasing new version of their software so they will but i'm sure it will take months.
If I could only play Counter Strike in Linux then I think I would ditch windows all together Anyone know when this might happen?

I am glad to see Linux find it's niche market. It seems every other day I see a story about a device that will be using linux because of OS and it's stability. If linux can capture that market decicively then it's survival will be assured. At least in some form or another.

Anyone else think that the Japanese might be a little farther then us in the Robitics area?
Anyone see that little guy that one of the car companies made that talked to you and rolled around on the floor? It told you when it needed to be charged. I saw a show about what the best minds at MIT were doing with Robitics right now and it doesn't seem like we are even near what the japanese have. Anyone know more??

THANK GOD I just finished my MCSE in NT 4.0 in December, Now i am about done with 2000 MCSE and ohh look, i have to learn something else now. GREAT!
